Art piece name- The Beauty of Nature
As I was walking past a lot of good drawings that i thought were actually amazing, i walked a little more and came along this very nice piece of art work and I decided to read about it, and why it is the way it is. The piece was so ordinary. It reminded me of a show i used to watch, there was a girl who looked like her in a way. I have never seen anything like that,in the way that i'm saying it is that , the art piece made my eyes pop. It was like seeing and old picture in black and white, or a special person that people looked up to but then died . She did not die i'm just describing what I thought it would be about.

The message the author gave to me was to just live life chill, and you can make mistakes, as many as you want then learn from them. She had her hair with easy curls with a fancy scarf with polka dots as if she were about to go somewhere special. She has very pretty features. The trees in the back of her stay still , it makes it look like its not a windy day or a hot day but its just a perfect day to walk around. You can see the sunlight hitting on the last tree also the front of her hair there is a highlight so you can tell the sun is hitting it.The Sunset.

The art piece that I picked was called paradise and was drawn by Carlos Vargas. I chose this one because it was colorful well done and had great proportions of this drawing. It Has excellent drawings skills and shows how detailed the artist really is. It also explains how committed he is drawing this person. Everything on the drawing was perfect and well thought out.

The message that I thought he was giving was that the girl in the picture was special to him.She was a very close friend or relative that he truly has feelings for. He expresses her favorite places to be in the world with the sun setting and her smiling showing an expression that can only be found in true happiness. Which is why he drew surrounded by paradise.

Not only did he do a great job at this artwork. He also didn't keep it all black and white. He added some color which gives this drawing in particular something different and something that catches your eye.

  4. "Strength Of a Mother'
    By: Issac Sigala

I was drawn to this piece of art because when I saw it, it was the only one who I immediately noticed, due to the dark and creepy background. In the piece of art it was a women sitting down with a big smile on her face. The background was a dark and creep looking environment, containing many trees, and there was a door, opened half way with a chair inside it. I wanted to know why a beautiful lady was drawn with a scary looking environment. The artist of the drawing was showing his Mother Maria Elena Sigala, and her abusive childhood. The big smile on her face indicates that she is a strong women and doesn't let her past haunt her and restrict her in many other ways. She puts a smile on her face and brightens everybody else's day. The door half way open represents her abusive past showing that, that wont bring her down and encourage her even more. Her past still haunts her so that's why the artist drew her sitting down. What the art speaks is that if you have been through something terrible always put a smile on your face to show you are a strong person and won't let anything bring you down like Maria, and how she didn't let anything bring her down. One value he showed was restrictions because she doesn't let her past restrict her in any ways and emotional realism because she always has a smile on her face to hide what shes been through.

Hearing our teacher, telling us to get ready to go downstairs to go to the photo gallery got me excited. Walking down the stairs to the MPR I was so anxious to go see the beautiful drawings. Knowing that I can't draw at all, it felt good to go see the drawings and seeing the potential that VISA's students have. These drawings aren't just hanged around for the fun of it, these drawings have stories behind them showing us life stories. It impressed me because these students actually gave their best to show off their talents.

As I walked in through the hall way, all of the portraits impressed, but their was only one that actually caught my attention. The portrait was walled "Strength of A Mother", by Issac Sigala. It caught my attention because the background was so dark and dull. I wanted to find out why a beautiful women was sitting down in the portrait in such a dark background. What also caught my attention in the background was the half open door with a chair inside. I wanted to find out the story behind it. I can tell that the Artist Issac took his time to draw this portrait. It was Beautiful! The way he drew his mother Maria Elene Sigala and all the small details around her.

As I started reading the story behind the portrait it all made sense to me. Issac's mother had an abusive childhood. As, I kept reading it got me emotional knowing what his mother went through. The reason for the big smile on her face indicates that she is a strong women and doesn't let her past haunt her and restrict her in many other ways. She puts a smile on her face and brightens everybody else's day. The door half way open represents her abusive past showing that, that wont bring her down and encourage her even more. Her past still haunts her so that's why the artist drew her sitting down. 5. As I walked around the MPR looking at all the different and beautiful art pieces in display, I was instantly drawn to Carlos Vargas's piece of art, "Paradise". This was a portrait of the artist's best friend, Marissa Garcia. The artist stated that he drew this portrait to show his admiration and so we, the audience, would understand and possibly see her how he sees her. I was amazed by the great amount of detail in this portrait. By all the details in this picture, you can clearly see and notice that Marissa is very important in the author's life.
This portrait was abundant in many different colors and seemed so lively. You could see all of the little details from the strands of her hair, to the waves in the ocean, to the flower in her hair. The author used bright, dreamlike, and lively colors to portray his best friend's bright future.
The author drew the San Francisco Bay bridge and a part of the city because his best friend wants to move to San Francisco and she loves the city. The author's best friend feels at peace when she is there and she can forget about her worries. The author's best friend Marissa, looks very happy and at peace by the smile on her face and the relaxed colors used in this piece of art.

    Title of Art-piece: Midnight Shadow

    So Much More
walking through the visa MPR which is usually a dull place i noticed that on that day it was full of artworks from different art students, walking around and admiring all the art-works i came across an art-piece that really stole my attention. This art-piece was Marissa Garcia's " Midnight Shadow". The self- contrasting artwork spectacle begged my attention and i willingly gave it. The sense of misunderstanding that oozed from the artwork could have only come from a place of deep thought and awareness. Ms. Garcia's friend christian obviously means a lot to the artist as she had spent days working on catching his likeness and giving a deeper sense of the boy behind the plugs.
The realism that is the very essence of this piece is shown through the different values of dark and light throughout christian s face down to the very last curl on his head. The dark background and very bright light bulbs portray a sense of being " left in the dark" . Ms. Garcia's message to the viewer is do not let society over take all the light you can bring into this world by judging you. I was drawn to this piece because i can relate to the message the artist is trying to extend towards the audience. I was also drawn to the theme of potential and self- worth the artist gave through her work. I too now realize that as people we all struggle with whether or not we're being all we can be. As well as the reasons why we deny ourselves all the things we can do and deserve.

    Title: Paradise

    A Girl's dream
Walking through the usually mundane and uninteresting multi- purpose room on one of the days where it was filled with various unique works of art i was drawn to Carlos Vargas' " paradise". The artwork attracted my attention due to its vivid coloring and picturesque background. The feeling of aspirations and dreams was the very soul of the artwork. This sense of pride in one's friend can only come from one who really sees all the possibilities that person has as well as embracing the greatness that person will do. Mr. Vargas friend Marissa obviously means a lot to him due to the fact that he had placed her in her ideal location, or the place they both believe her dreams will come true.
The realistic manner of the art-work lends a sense of her ability to reach all that she strives for. The way the background is bright and dreamlike shows that San Francisco is her dream place. Mr. Vargas message that he wants the viewer to understand is that if you can dream it its possible as long as you strive for it. I can relate to the artists' message because i believe that anyone can do everything if they set their mind to it and if its something they really want. I also realize now that we as humans all at some point learn this lesson of living up to your potential whether its doing what you know you can or letting it slip through your fingers.

As I was walking down the stairs from my classroom I got delighted to go and see what a spontaneous job these students have done as an artist. As I go inside the Mpr, it looks way different and special because of all these portraits. It impressed me because these students really gave it their best to show what they can do because it showed their talents in the pictures. I decided to go and see the other hallway where there was more pictures.

As I walk into the hallway, Issac Sigalas portrait drags me into the attention of what the image will be about. When I saw this picture it caught my attention because I wanted to find the story behind it and why there was a chair and trees in the back. From where I was standing it looked so real because the appearance of the artists mom was perfect like her face, hair, etc. I can tell that the artist really took his time to draw this picture and explain the theme. Just by seeing the picture I kinda figured it would be about his mom and how she has a smile on her face. I was drawn to this picture very much because I just knew it would be interesting to read what it was about and why she had a smile on her face but yet she had a dark background with the chair and branches of trees, In my mind i thought it would be something bad because the background is dull.

As I started to read the story and why he drew this it got me pretty emotional. The artist mother is called Maria Elena Sigala and had an abusive childhood which didn't make it any better, but as I'm reading he explains that she doesn't let the past affect her as well as her future. She still manages to keep a smile on her face everyday and is a strong woman which is why he drew her sitting in a chair. The trees represent how the past doesn't bring her down in anything. The themes he explains in this portrait is freedom, emotional realism, restrictions, stories, and history through artwork. I think the artist is trying to explain even though you have had a rough past to not let that affect you because there are things beyond being sad and letting the past affect which is why I think he's mother manages to have a smile on her face. In my opinion the chair appear as them trapping her mom and making it hard for her childhood, but the trees make her capable of having the beautiful smile on her face.

  8. Last One, Here for You
    By: Jessica

It was a typical day at Vaughn, walking down to the MPR I wondered all kinds of new art I would get to see. Walking in, I was really drawn to many art pieces. As I walked I was particularly drawn to an art piece of a baby drawn by Jessica Garcia and given the title Last One, Here For You. This art piece was beautiful and was absolutely well thought out. Jessica's piece was of her younger sister, Alesandra Garcia. This particular piece of art caught my attention because they younger sister had a very sweet face, and this meaningful piece of art can only be created out of love. Through this piece Ms. Garcia wanted to express the kind of love she feels for her younger sister. Alesandra definitely has a big place in Jessica's heart, which this art piece clearly demonstrates.

Looking at this art piece certainly demonstrates the time and effort put into it. The angelic face of her baby sister surrounded by clouds creates a peaceful feeling. Alesandra's hair, the glow on her face, and the shading features of her face, are all intricate details and highlight the realism of this art piece. The clouds give an indescribable meaning because it shows that her baby sister is like an angel to her. The art piece shows that her baby sister not only has a big place in her hear but she is someone very meaningful to her. Jessica's message to her sister is "You will do great things." Through this art piece it absolutely demonstrates this message through detail, energy, time, and though. Her little sister is an aspiring person in her life.

This art piece caught my attention because it was of a young person, and I am always curious about young people, and I always seem to connect with them as well. With the art piece I hoped that the artist felt the exact same way, and thought young people were by far really amazing beings. I realize now, too, that I have both strong and unconditional love for my younger brother. My younger brother, Andres, is one of the most important person in my life. I connected with the artist, Jessica, because I am absolutely sure that when my brother grows up, he will too become a great person and will do great things. Jessica and I are both passionate about our younger sibling and the potential that they have. They will one day grow to do great things because God placed them on this Earth for a reason. It is an honor to connect with both an amazing artist and a piece of art work.

  9. The Beauty of Nature
    Teo Mercado

When I first heard from our teacher that were going downstairs to see the photo gallery I actually got excited to see different kind of art work. I was just walking around the hallways like a typical day then I see this artwork and it catches my attention. The art piece that I was drawn into was the one that was created by Teo Mercado, her art piece name was The Beauty Of Nature. This artwork just catches my attention because when I was reading the passage I just compared it to myself because the same beauty ourselves have nature has the beauty to. It also caught my attention because just looking at this wonderful art piece made me realize the beauty of nature is as important as our beauty.

I could relate this art piece to the open world because everybody will notice that nature of beauty is very important to other people in the world. The message that this art piece gives out is the girl is as pretty has the beauty of nature. This message speaks through the art work because the girl on it is pretty and on the background there's some trees.

Another interesting fact about his is talking about even when you get more sophisticated while also being beautiful. I was drawn to this picture because it's true whatever you do you will still have your true beauty. I was also drawn to this piece of art because of this little quote "Her age relates to the young trees in the background because they are also young compared to the full grown tree closer to the front." The message the author is giving out is you may be young or old but you will still have beauty and the nature is like beauty like ourselves. They draw a girl and she's really pretty and some trees in the back and in the passage it was talking about the girl and the trees and it's comparing the girls beauty with the tree. The other thing I like about this art piece was it's simple but to the author it means a lot and now I know that nature is beauty like ourselves.

  10. As I was walking through the multi-purpose room, I stumbled upon a piece of art that caught my attention. It was a strange but lovely sight. I have never seen art portrayed like this before and it surely gave me a sight of curiosity. The piece of art was called Paradise by Carlos Vargas. The piece represents a young female that is Carlos's best friend who has given him inspiration. Based on his description, he cares for her a lot.

I was drawn to this piece of art because of the way the artist left the piece of art. The amount of details in the face of the young female makes me ponder on how much time Carlos has spent time on drawing her. I love the way Carlos left a part of the picture colored and the other part in shades of black, grey, and a bit of white. The details of the bridge and sky also caught my attention. The sky gives a feeling of a cool morning and the little details on the house in the background gives some realism to the scenery.

The artist is trying to convey to me that he cares for her very much. In his description he stated that she is beautiful, intelligent, etc. Also his inspiration and supporter. This piece of art speaks to me very effectively. Based on this image, it looks to me that it takes place in San Francisco, which is also stated in the description. She wants to move there and forget about her troubles and live a peaceful life.

The creator of this drawing is Carlos Vargas. He tilted his drawing "Paradise". The drawing is a physical master piece with its amazing shading, incredible depth, tremendous details and visually stunning realism. I was drawn to Carlos' drawing like many others because in my opinion it was the best drawing at the art gallery. There were many close seconds but this one is just the most visually pleasing to me. The message Carlos is trying to express with his drawing is his admiration for his best friend. Carlos was able to show his admiration with his drawing because I could tell that he wanted to show people that the person he drew was special because she is the biggest part of the story and the most detailed out of the two other parts that are present in the drawing.

The creator of this drawing is Carlos Vargas a senior here at V.I.S.A. He chose to title his drawing "Paradise", out of all the possible choices available to him he chose this one but I find that title fitting for such a marvelous drawing. The physical appearance of this master piece is incredibly amazing with its skillful shading, incredible depth, tremendous details, wonderful coloring and its visually stunning realism. I was drawn to Carlos' drawing like many others because it was the best drawing at the art gallery but I didn't think that it was the best drawing at the gallery at first because it was one of the first ones I saw. So I kept looking around the gallery to see if any other drawings surpassed this beautiful work of art. There were many close seconds at the gallery but this one is just the most visually pleasing to me in the end so I choose this one to write about.
Even while being a wonderful work of art there is a clear message given by the drawing. The message Carlos is able to express with his drawing is his admiration for his best friend. Carlos was able to show his message of his admiration greatly with his drawing because I could tell that he wanted to show people that the person he drew was special because she is the biggest part of the drawing and the most detailed out of the three other parts that are present in the drawing.

  12. "Exploring the Art Show"

On February 19, 2013 my class and I went to the VISA art show to see the different art pieces. Walking into the Multi-Purpose Room and seeing all the magnificent pieces was like walking into a collage. There were art pieces everywhere around the walls high and low, but one that had my attention was an art piece named "Paradise." The author of the piece was Carlos Vargas a senior at Vaughn International Studies Academy. The reason this piece got my attention was because of it's phenomenal and fluorescent colors that are in the background. This piece was different from other pieces which made it stand out to me.
When I first saw the piece I noticed the colors in the background how it gave the piece a true and vivid scene. The colors and details make the piece look like an actual photograph of San Francisco. The girl on the side has features that make her look real. Reading the authors statement, I discovered his perspective towards the girl in the piece which was his friend. He used the traits and adjectives sweet, intelligent, beautiful, kind, selfless, hardworking, honest, brave, strong, quirky, and amazing to talk about his friend. From my understanding the author wants to express what he feels for his friend. He drew her in San Francisco because that is where she wants to go and live in the cities.
She feels relaxed and calm when she is there. This art piece really spoke the author's feelings and message because of how beautiful and realistic everything is. The audience can tell that she is happy by her emotions and of course she in front of her dream place. This piece was like no other and can't way for others to come.

  13. * Roaming around the halls I noticed different paintings and drawing on the walls. People's description of what it is they drew, the students and teachers call this place the " Art Gallery " . I witnessed different pieces of art and portraits that inspired students some time in their life. The artist took their time to paint this , the strokes are so exact following each other like a pattern. The artist must have taken their time to find a type of inspirational to draw such beautiful pieces. The painting named " Paradise " by Carlos Vargas caught my eye the most. He added color and examples of what he added to this picture.
To me the paintings all seemed life like, I admired this one because not only was the person life like so was the background. It almost seems as a picture mixes the colors in such a way. He added colors and the sky different places to this picture and they all stand for different subjects. The sky and sea are a type of symbol in my eyes. He described why he wanted to paint this , why this person and these images inspire him. Using kinds of colors to make the image look a certain way so he can paint what he is thinking about. Being able to go out in the world and explore , without forgetting where you came from. The picture making him feel emotions and freedom.
Getting to that one place that makes you feel happy should be easy. Whether its over sea or flying though the sky. This art piece shows beauty of a place by watching closely. Leaving to that place but never forgetting about your home. The colors give me a type of thrill to think the sky can change such colors. People getting to witness the waves from different places around the world. Sun sets being seen and watched from different ground.

The drawing I chose was untitled, but the artist is Saul Serrano. This piece of art drew my attention because it was very detailed and it seemed like the artist took his time to put in every detail. It was really cool how this couple looks almost the same in the drawing and in real life. It caught my attention on how much talent this artist has. It's a drawing of a couple that goes here and in this drawing they were hugging and holding each other so close with a smile on their faces. The artist wanted to express his best friends' relationship to show the happiness they share. He wanted to represent companionship, love, friendship, and happiness, so he used facial expressions to show that they have that connection with each other. He wanted to show how he viewed his best friends relationship, in other words what he see's and thinks about them being together. I think this author really did send this message because he was very detailed and the couple looked very happy together as if nothing else mattered, but the love and companionship they shared. I think this drawing is really good, the artist did a really good job on it. I artist mostly focused on the facial expressions to show the audience the freedom and happiness this couple shares, both of them are smiling and seem happy. The love they have towards each other is being represented by the way they are put close together.

This piece of art drew my attention because it was very detailed and it seemed like the artist took his time to put in every detail. Art Piece Name: Paradise

Walking through the MPR, students made an art piece of what they inspired them. Well Carlos Vargas's art piece grab my attention. Its was an amazing art piece filled with colors and details. Carlos drew his best friend in San Francisco on the Golden Gate Bridge. The Golden Gate bridge itself had a sunset and it looks very beautiful when its sunset. He made the background have this colorful and dreamlike atmosphere to show her bright future. The women on the art was his best friend and he thought she was the most incredibly gorgeous person. Carlos has spent hours sketching this piece as a new opportunities for living your dreams. He took so much caution to precisely and accurately draw his friend with the most realistic detail, to capture her beauty and show his appreciation for her.

His best friend dreams on living there in the future, she loves the city. This art explain what he express how he really feels about her and constantly thinking about her. His message was when he express his love for his friend. His friend is the greatest inspiration and number one supporter. I was drawn to this piece because the portrait seemed to the best impression of a best friend in the entire art exhibition. The artist mixed a picture of a beautiful sunset in San Francisco with his beautiful friend. I realize now that I connected with the artist art because it reminds me of my best friend who i can trust and love the most without giving up on them. Carlos and I are passionate about our best friends that we have, as they are beautiful. It is a great experience this act of a loving best friend, through art, from Carlos Vargas.

  16. Once I stepped out of the classroom, and headed to the school's Multi-Purpose Room we walked into the hallway that was filled with many beautiful and amazing pieces of art. But there was one specific drawing that caught my eye, and that was Melissa Palafox's piece Pieces of Me. This piece managed to catch my attention more than any other piece because the unfinished puzzle really interested me. The drawing had a young girl not smiling to big, but having a little smile on her face and behind the girl was an unfinished puzzle, and puzzle pieces still going to fall into place.

The drawing had a very clear message and it drew my attention to know even more about the piece. The drawing had a very important message that the artist was saying about her younger sister, Isela Palafox. The message that the artist was trying to explain was that her sister was still young and that life is like a puzzle and it needs to be completed. The artist's message was that her younger sisters puzzle was still uncomplete and she still had to put together and she had many choices to make. The artist was inspired by her favorite lyric "the rest is still unwritten" from the song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield The artist delivers her message very clearly by showing that her sister in front of an unfinished puzzle symbolizing that her puzzle is not finished yet.

  17. Michelle Cruz
    "You're My Little Angel"
    DRAFT #2

Going to my 2nd period I saw portraits, everywhere. Remembering there was a art class in VISA . I walked into our MPR, and just I walked in I saw one of the most beautiful drawings drawn by Michelle Cruz. Her art piece is named Your my little angel . This art piece was a baby boy, with chubby cheeks as most of new born babies look like. He was smiling, looked happy. As a kid you don't have responsibilities, no worries about life, you don't have to worry about obstacles . The sun in the background is like a halo above him knowing that yes he's gone , out of this cruel world but is looking at his family . The giraffe represents that when he would sleep he would sleep with it and he would cry if he didn't have it, the giraffe is like a best friend , when they're gone you don't have anyone but your self.
I was so drawn to this piece because, I didn't know that when you loose someone that meant to so much to you they will be there. This drawing brought me back to childhood, happiness, laughter, playing around. I know that if this baby grew up he would has have some obstacles but will be happy no matter what. Knowing that he passed away touched me. Knowing that no one forgot about him, touched me. Michelle would have been the best older sister. Me myself doesn't have any younger siblings so that was another reason why it touched me so much. I did have siblings to play with but they were grown not fully grown but older than me. I remember that my mom told me once that I always took a pink blanket that had a reindeer and little birds, I would take it almost everywhere, and when I didn't have it I would be in a bad mood. So, the way I loved my blanket was the way he loved his giraffe.
The message Michelle is giving is that, everyone who has a sibling has fought with them. Cherish every moment you have with them because one day they won't be there for you, no one to back you up on arguments, and you will miss them. Don't argue with them, same goes with your friends one day they won't be there for you and you won't have anyone. Build a friendship with your siblings. Don't just think that they are your brother or sister think of them as your friend or best friend. Michelle has taught me that I should love my brother and sisters no matter what happens in life. Even if they get you upset because she lost her brother and will not see him grow up.

Un Sens Tres Unique Enfant ( a very unique chi)
    by Carlos C.

When I walked in the MPR to check all the art pieces I was literally shocked of the talent that was shown through the art pieces. It was breath taking to see all those art pieces that somehow the person in the portrait is important to the artist with a meaning that symbolized something important to them. All of them were really good pieces but i wanted to choose one that really relates me to the art piece and the author of the drawing.
Most of the stories that I read where really touching and they got me to the heart but I didn't feel any connection with them until I saw the piece made by Carlos C. called the Un Sens Tres Unique Enfant ( a very unique chi). This portrait is a representation of Carlos' little brother named Tory and it really caught my eye because I wanted to know why the artist decided to put those symbols around the boy and what was that they represented. Also the way that the eyes of the boy are placed and the shading around the symbols drag my attention and made me get interested in getting to know more about this portrait and the meaning behind it.
Carlos wanted to represent Tory's childhood, innocence, mischievousness, and freedom through this portrait. As I read through the information paper next to this portrait I found out that the snake and the broken glass is representing Tory's mischievousness, the eagle is a representation of Tory's freedom, and the tricycle represents childhood and innocence. As I kept reading the passage, the only person that I could think about was my little brother Andres. I felt as if the artist was describing my brother for a moment and they I realized that Tory and my brother have a lot of things in common. My brother is the most important person for me in this life. For instance, I felt a strong connection and memories came to my head.

    "Little Angle"

Every morning, i walk through the hallway by the MPR. But one morning while i was walking through the hall, i noticed that there were many art portraits. My advisory teacher, also the art teacher, explained that the students were going to lay out their drawings on a wall to make an art exhibition. In that art exhibition, many friends and family from the artist were going to attend that exhibition and observe many of the portraits in that hallway. In fourth period, Ms. Espinoza gave us an opportunity to see the art exhibition and write an art review on one specific drawing.
While I was looking around in the art exhibition, i passed through many other pieces of art. But one drawing in specific caught my attention. The art piece that caught my attention was "Little Angel" by Cinthya Marin. In her drawing, she drew her little sister, Michelle with a guardian angel beside her. It amazed me because she drew her sister carefully and with many facial details. I like this particular piece because it shows the love Cinthya has towards her sister. In her artist's statement, she describes that she had always wanted a little sister, and that her sister has been a very strong person since she was born. She also said that her sister's illness has made her grow as a person.
This artist wanted to explore the theme of family bond, freedom, and power. She wanted to show that her little sister is a brave little girl because other people don't deal with all that pain Michelle goes through. This artwork caught my attention because of the soft background. In her artist statement, she describes why she added a soft background. She said that since her sister has glaucoma, the brightness can harm her eyes. So with that said, she drew a light purple background with a guardian angel to sooth any pain she has. To me, Cinthya's artwork delivers the message that there is always something or someone that can help you feel better after having to deal with any difficulties life throws at you.

  20. What a Mothers Mean.
    By: America Martinez

In my digital class my teacher Ms.Espinoza gave us an assignment to chose an art piece inside of of muliti purpose room in the high school One that we were drawn too and just caught our attention. At first I didn't really think anything would catch my eye because I'm not much of an art person. But as I was down the stairs and started seeing portraits I was really amazed at how someone could capture such angles and get things so perfect. Although I was really amazed by the art nothing in particular really caught my eye.

I was with two other friends Jocelyn and Karina. We were passing by many portraits when Jocelyn stopped me and told me to look at a particular one, as I was coming close to it I noticed the women in the picture looked allot like my mom. The face structure, hair, eyes, and eyebrows looked so much like my mother. From that moment on I knew that this picture was the one that I would choose to write about.

In the portrait the lady was smiling and was Around her is a tiger, leaves, and butterfly's. Everything fit just right in the drawing and nothing looked out of place. The artist whom drew her was her daughter, named America. Along with the picture also came a description about America talking and describing the picture and her mother. It explained what each thing inside of it represented and why in particular the pictures she drew where there. And I noticed how it seemed as if she was describing my mother also.

The tiger in the drawing represents hope through tough times with any situations that come up, specifically with family. And the butterfly's represent as well as hope but also how change affect lives no matter how big or small, and although many changes have happened to her mom she still stuck with her family. I feel that this drawing has so much meaning to it and a great story behind the person in it. The drawing seems so well planned out and almost perfection. You can tell that by just looking at it that so much work and detail has been put into it. I found it sop weird how this picture was so much like my mother as well as the description, people aren't so different when it comes to love.

    "Last One, Here for you"

    Warm Heart

As I was with friends during break I noticed many portraits on the hallway and the MPR . I was curious to know more about them, I was amazed on how much detail these students put into their work.Once I got to my 4th period my teacher assigned us to review the portraits downstairs and pick one that we most liked. I was eager to see the rest of the drawings. I entered the MPR and it was like entering an art exhibition. All of the art was amazing . It seemed that the drawings were mostly family members.
I glanced at almost every piece , but there was one that really grabbed my attention , one that brought me back memories. The piece I reviewed when we went to the exhibition was titled "Last One, Here For You" and it was done by Jessica Garcia. In the piece the artist drew was a little month year old baby girl. She was laying down sleeping wrapped around a soft looking blanket. This piece of art grabbed my attention by the way the artist expressed herself on her drawing . She put every little detail, to me it looked very much real. I thought it was amazing and well done. You can tell how much time she put into it. What the artist tried to express in her drawing was family bonds . The drawing was her 9 month baby sister Alesandra Garcia . She has a older sister and says she has a different bond with each of her siblings. Jessica wants to explore the theme of family bonds. She thought it was important to communicate that her sister is new to the world. Jessica's main goal is to show her younger sister that she has a long way in life.
I connected to this piece because I too have a younger sister . The way the artist expressed herself about her sister is the same way I would . My sister is eight now , but this portrait looks so much like her when she was just a baby. When I first found out I was having a baby sister I was eager to play with her and share all my toys . When I first saw her she was very small and looked much like this drawing. I still remember her little face. She was new to the world , and I had a big smile on my face because I knew that she was going to be a big part of my life. Jessica has shown me the importance of family , and as the oldest sibling I should make the best out of it.

    " Pieces of me "

As I was walking through the hall way and saw many pieces of art that were simply amazing and inspiring but one piece in particular caught my eye. The piece was about the author, Melissa Palafox's sister. The author gave her portrait a unique name "Pieces of me" , I felt that her art piece name fit because she used her little sister to show that her decision will affect her future and that the puzzle piece defines her decision . Seeing this artist work was such a amazing opportunity to see how she views her sisters future.
As I read her description on her portrait, she did a really good job explaing her portrait for starters she described why she used puzzles in her portrait. She said that the puzzles are a way of life and that once you make that first choice it will intigrate a puzzle piece in your life and while her sister keeps on growing her puzzle will start to get full because of her decision's.
As I walked away from her potarit I had a really strong understandment on how to view life as she said "Life is like a puzzle." When I finally took a last look of the portrait I simply enjoyed the way the author drew her sister with the puzzle pieces.

When I first saw this piece of artwork it was just so amazing. It's a painting of a beautiful girl to be exact it's the artist's friend, her name is Nerina Preciado. Even though the picture is only in white, gray, and black somehow the artist managed to capture his friends magnificent beauty.

I personally was drawn to this picture because of the love that the artist shows for his friend. By painting a picture of her it shows how much he really cares and appreciate her. Hopefully if I get to take art class I will use my inspiration from this artist and paint a friend I truly care about. I personally can't figure out the message that the artist is trying to send but all I can say is that the artist cares so much for his friend that he painted in this art piece of his.

During 5th period Ms.Espinoza sent us to go to the MPR to look at the art pieces and there stories the artiest is telling . I didn't see any that caught my attention until I walked into the hallway.Saul Serrano Grab my attention with no doubt about it ! He drew his best friend's relationship it must mean a lot to Saul seeing his best friend happy because he spent a lot of his time drawing the wonderful art piece. Saul was creative and very detail.

This drawing shows a happy couple sharing their love. They both look happy and comfortable with each other. They are hugging and holing each other so close. The artist wanted to express his best friends' relationship to show the happiness they share. He wanted to express that what they share is something amazing. He wanted to represent companionship, love, friendship, and happiness. He used facial expressions to show that they have this connection with each other.

I think author really did send his message because he was very detailed and the couple looked very happy with each other. I think that this artist did a really good job on this portrait. The love they have towards each other is being represented by the way they are put close together.

When I first walked through the hall with all the beautiful artwork there is one that caught mine and my friends attention. When I saw it I was astonished with all the detailing in the background that Melissa Palafox drew. The drawing had a lot of puzzle pieces behind a drawing of her sister already in place and some coming into place. That was trying to send a message saying that the pieces were a representation of her sister's life and how she has some of her life complete and she still has a long way to go.

The artists sister , Isela Palafox was smiling in the drawing and the artist said that that is how her sister truly is. Melissa used a line from her favorite son, Unwritten, by Sara Bareilles, that says,"The rest is still unwritten." That was to show that her sister's life is still unwritten and that she still needs a long way to go in life. The artist said that this was her favorite song and it described her sister's life a lot.

Walking through the hall, i was able to feel all the different emotions of each art piece. Every single one of them tells a story as too why the artist chose to draw the person. As i walk through the hall I'm admiring every piece of art and feeling every emotion each on brings, but the one that I felt for the most was , Maria. What first caught my eye was the drawing of his grandma because in her eyes I was also able to see the eyes of my grandmother. The detail in her hair and features of her face really make her look like she was of an older age. Gerardo Reynaga, through his art piece, was able to tell a story. The story is that his grandmother was a serious person but also very religious. The crops on the bottom of the art piece shows an atmosphere as to where she grew up and what she grew up doing.

I was drawn to this picture because the most prominent thing to me was the Virgin Mary. Gerardo gave himself a challenge on also drawing another piece of work with such complex details. The message Gerardo gives in this art piece is the love for a family member and the way this person was. I was mostly drawn to this art piece was because it reminded so much of my grandmother who also passed away 3 years ago. My grandma was so much like Gerardo's, religious and serious but can be cheerful at times. I felt so connected to this art piece because it brings back amazing memories of my grandma.

Art Piece title : A Part of Me

As I entered digital literacy , I was expecting another recurrent day . We met in the forum after our usual routines, Ms. Espinoza told us we were going to be reviewing pieces of art as a new assignment , the paintings were made by the art class. I was expecting some inspid art but I was shocked as I stepped into the MPR. The MPR was covered with colorful , distinctive art pieces. They were all drawn nicely , they had lots of detail and they seemed to have taken the artist a fair amount of work and effort. I picked the artwork by Connie Arreguin. Her project was called "A Part of Me" this piece is about her little brother Emanuel. Her artwork represents love, beauty , remembrance, memories and sacrifice. She was worried because her brother was going away, she gets over this because she says this distance won't affect their relationship. She used Thomas the train to represent this by saying that no matter how far apart they are they'll always be in touch.

As I was walking through the MPR I notice that it wasn't just an ordinary day, it was an unusual but marvelous day. The MPR was fulled with a variety of fantastic art pieces. But for some reason the Pursuit of Happiness caught my eye. Crystal's drawing reminded me of my own grandma, that is one of the reasons why I preferred this art piece over the rest. Looking at the drawing I really love the way Crystal captured her grandmother. Her posture, the way her hair looked, it really gave a vintage feel to it and i just thought it was amazing and unique. This drawing took the artist four days to complete her art work. I could just imagine all the thought and creativity Crystal conveyed into her artwork. The Pursuit of Happiness is Antonia Ramirez Anguiano's life struggle, and it portrays perseverance. In the artist description Antonia is her role model, she raised nine children with the help of no one and never once gave up. At first glance, all I saw was a lovely vintage drawing of someones grandmother. Once, I read the caption I analyzed the drawing and saw the struggle in her eyes and the yellow background was the light that never went out. The message was clear, I should never give up and now I can see why Antonia was Crystal's role model because she was a remarkable and an outstanding women.

    Art Piece Title: Uncharted Promises

While I was walking down the stair I saw so many blank hallways, that I felt the hallways were so lonely and boring. Once I was down the stairs I realized there was a piece of the VISA hallways that were not boring, it was just phenomenal. I walked toward a specific hallway that was phenomenal and just not boring. It was a hallway full of artwork. I went through every artwork and I saw a piece that I just felt in love with. I have never seen such a piece of artwork this wonderful in the whole school because the hallways are so boring. I saw the summary of the art piece and everything that describe it made me think about me and my three younger sisters. This wonderful person called Sandra Montes did such a wonderful job in her artwork. This piece of artwork is called Uncharted Promises. When I was reading out of Sandra's artwork I noticed that many things she had said was related to my relationship with my sister. This art piece had many descriptions that were compared to me. For example the eagle was a representation of protection. This means that the older brother is protecting his little brother the same way I protect my three little sisters. There are many ways I was compared the this drawing. I mean the the eagle represented protection and the fire represented the temper the older brother can have with his little brother. The rose, butterflies and the birds just represent the little brothers positive effects. I think that Sandra's main message about her artwork was to tell us that a relations between you and older to younger brother or sisters can be good. That their is many ways of having a good relationships between you and your brothers/sisters. The message is effectively spoken out because it has different little parts of drawings in the art to give out the way relationships can be between each other. I really want to give Sandra Montes a big congratulations on her piece of art because it really stood up to me and to other people that feel the same way about this piece of art.

  30. Usually the hallways at VISA are the same, you see the same things or there's nothing there at all. One morning as I was walking to homeroom, I passed through the hall way and saw that there was art work all through the hall way. It looked beautiful. Passing through there every morning and during break was really nice because we could enjoy seeing the hard work of the art students we have here.

When we were assigned this assignment, we walked down stairs into the MPR. There were way more drawings in there then in the hallway. They were all beautiful. This piece of art stood out to me because it was one of the few pieces of art that had color. This piece got my attention, when I got closer to the piece I saw that there was a picture of the bridge that's in San Francisco. It was a very nice shade of red. It looked very nice. In front of the bridge was a beautiful young lady. It shows her face expression perfectly. Shes smiling, she has eyeliner on, her hair is curled, she has a flower on her hair and she has earrings on. Something about her made me take a second look. Everything in the picture was in color except her portrait.

While walking into the MPR I experienced the different textures and details each art piece had. As I kept walking into the hall I noticed an art piece with a little girl smiling she seemed happy to be in this world. I looked around and saw the title which was called Little Angel by Cynthia Marin. While looking at the picture the angel in the back reminded me of my mom. It seemed as she had an angel protecting and guiding her every step. The most prominent visual where the little girls eyes they were so big but as i was reading the authors feeling toward the painting I read that she had an illness called Glaucoma. I was confused at first but as I kept reading it meant that she wasn't able to look at the sun because it would hurt her eyes which lead to her having such sensitive big eyes. The clouds and angel made me see the purity of the little girls soul.

Ms. Marin made an excellent use of her colors which made a soft sun background which was meant to not hurt her sisters eyes. The shading in her hair made her hair seem silky and soft. The white parts on the angels dress stood out because it made it seem realistic as if she where really moving her arms and made small wrinkles on then. The pole where her hands are leaning on is very drawn out which means to me like if i was watching 3-D. The small curls in her hair and the detail as if she drew hair per hair. The small amount of blush on her cheeks was very well used to see that she was happy and had nothing to regret. Her youth made it and with her illness because I'm able to relate with Ms. Marin with how difficult to see one of your family members not being able to do what you can.

  32. On Thursday during digital literacy the class went to the M.P.R to see the art class portraits. When we were inside of the M.P.R looking at the portraits only one stand out to which was Carlos Vargas's portrait. The only portrait that was colorful and outstanding that caught my eye. His portrait represent his beautiful best friend. Also Carlos drew a big house that represent his best friend dream house. Last Carlos drew a San Francisco bridge in color because it represent were she wants to live in the future. Carlos dedicated his time to do this portrait to show how much he cares about her.

The realism that spills from this portrait is mostly on the San Francisco bridge and his best friend. The bright red of the bridge and the blue ocean that looked so beautiful. This made me think that one day that I'm older i should visit San Francisco. Then his best friend which was drawn with complex details like her smile, hair, eyes, eyebrows, and the flower that was drawn on top of her head. He message to his best friend is that he cares so much about her.

I was drawn to this portrait because it was the only one with color in the entire art exhibition. I was drawn to the portrait because he mixed a beautiful young girl next to the San Francisco bridge. Also the picture showed that how much Carlos cares about his best friend. It was an honor to look at this beautiful portrait.

    Untitled

The art work that I choose has a warm color background. It is a yellowish orange color. The person is kind of at an angle, it take up most of the paper. Her hair is very nice it almost looks like she has highlights. She is also wearing a simple t-shirt. I was drawn to this piece of art because of the orange background and because of how realistic it looks. I also like the attention to detail there is. Her eyes are so nice that they look like they are literally glowing. The artist wanted to communicate family bonds and the nature of beauty and aging. I think that the artist is communicating how close her and her cousin are. She is also communicating how her cousin is a nice friendly person, she is conveying this by making the background a warm and inviting color.

As I walking through VISA's MPR I instantly felt like I was at a real art gallery. While taking a glimpse at all of the art work I was instantly drawn to Neria's piece. The warm orangey color caught my eye. I also like how all of the attention was drawn to the girl in the center. The art piece name is currently UNTITLED.

The way the art work is displayed is that there is a warm orangey color, as the background. Then the artist cousin Alejandra is in the middle of the paper, at an angle. It also seems as if she is looking at you. That is because her eyes look very realistic. Just like her hair. Her hair seems as if she has highlights. It also looks as if the artist put in a lot of effort into her hair and facial features. Alejandra is drawn right in the middle very large. She is also wearing a regular shirt. She is also smiling, she looks very happy.

I was drawn to this piece because I liked how the gray drawing stood out in the orange background. One other thing that I really liked was her hair. It seemed very realistic, like if she has highlights. I also liked her eyes, they look like they are glowing. her nose and lips also look very well done. I also like how Nerina drew her cousin at an angle. It makes her cousin look very angle like and very pretty. But the main reason that I like this art piece is that it is very well done. Lots of details.

The message that is being conveyed through the art work is family bonds and the nature of beauty and aging. I think that she did a good job of doing that. She showed her cousin in her teenage years which is when one is most beautiful. She really took the time to draw her facial features. Which payed of because it really conveys how her cousin is growing into a young lady. I think that she could do a better job at showing us family bonds. At first I didn't think it was family bonds but once I read her artist statement I understood what she wanted us to take away from her piece of art.

I think the art piece did do a good job of showing nature of beauty and aging. This is because I right away knew that this was her message. One other reason is because you can tell that her cousin was drawn at the age that people turn into young adults. I overall really liked this art piece because of the neatness and how much detail there is. I think that Neria is a very good artist.

    Art Piece: Uncharted Promises
Walking through VISA's boring empty hallways, down to the MPR I noticed that some walls had pieces of art that students had drawn. But there was one specific hall way that stood out the most and they wall was full of different art work. They looked so elegant and pretty. However their was one particular piece that stood out the most and that piece was called "Uncharted Promises" drawn by Sandra Montes. In this art piece it tell a story of Sandra's friend that he was her best friend but they stopped talking but she still sees him as a good friend. It shows many things like the flames are representing the guys temper about his little brother. the rose shows how delicate he was and is toward his little brother. The water drop represents how tender he was with his younger brother. This art piece stood out the most because that is how i feel towards my younger siblings and that was why i chose to do this art piece.

On a Thursday morning me and my class went to the Multi-Purpose Room to look at some pieces of art that were made by students. My thoughts before I entered were that it was going to be boring and uninteresting for me, but as soon as I walked in I noticed that these drawings were more than what I had expected. These drawings were beautiful and some stood out to me but the one that caught my attention the most was the one from Crystal Hernandez "Pursuit of Happiness."
The art piece was a drawing of an old past relative. The art piece was beautifully drawn with a lot of detail added in it.
This piece got my attention because the way it was drawn just automatically captured me and the way the eyes were drawn with full detail , that's what mainly caught my eye. You can see the sadness and pain inside her eyes. She looked like a strong beautiful women with a horrific past. When I conversed with Crystal she explained her drawing to me and what it meant to her, this drawing was about her grandmother who had a tragic past when she was younger. She had unbearable and unreliable sisters who stabbed her in her back and her husband who cheated on her with a mistress, a 15 year old mistress who was only with him for the money but yet she still rose up against them. "Fall down 7 times, stand up 8". She told me that her drawing was more of gratitude towards her grandmother,I can see why that's Crystals' role model because she was an outstanding and bold women.

Walking through the Visa Multi-purpose room I saw some art pieces. It was hanging from the wall and that one seemed to catch my attention. When i got a closer look i got to get a better look and admire the beauty it had. The drawing that Carlos drew was so beautiful. Its like if a famous artist drew it. The painting had a lot of detail, i like how it made the person look so realistic. One thing that i read about this drawing was that his bestfriend wants to move to San Francisco. The background is just so beautiful, the colors he used are amazing. It looks like if he took his time to do this well. When i saw this painting i was speechless, out of all the paintings this was the one that caught my attention the most.

On Thursday as we walked down stairs to the MPR, there were pieces of art that are hanging on the hallways and all over the walls of the MPR. As I walked through the MPR looking at all the art work I see a drawing that catches my attention. It was Jessica Garcia's portrait named "Last One, here For You". It was a beautiful and sweet representation of her younger sister, Alesandra Garcia. The detail and and perfection of her portrait shows that she made it with great love, as she spends her time sketching this amazing piece, that means new opportunities for her sister, and the love she has for her.
The beauty and realism that spills from her work stands out in the expression of Alesandra's angel like face, and the details of her hair. They clouds portray a setting of dreams and ambition. The message Jessica gives her sister is " you will do great things" and " You are the last of the family, and be here longer, to show what you are capable of." The detail in the portrait shows he detail and the thought that Jessica Out in to her work will surely show her message to her sister.
I was drawn to this piece because the portrait was so realistic is was an amazing interpretation of heaven and dreams with an angle looking baby. I was also drawn to this art piece because It looked like my 2 year old baby sister and the love that I have for my sister. I too have unconditional love for my younger sister and I know that life will grant her many amazing opportunities and that she is capable of doing anything she wants. Both me and Jessica are confident that our sister will be amazing and beautiful women that will show the world what they are capable of. It was an amazing experience and I was glad to have had this experience through Out Jessica Garcia's Art piece.

  38. When I was in cheer leading practice I saw these amazing art pieces I glared at them for a while, then realized the amazing detailed sketches. The next day I approached my fifth period class Digital literacy and found out we are going to go downstairs and actually work with a drawing that catches our attention. I walked around the entire room but none of them seem to catch my attention. Therefor i was not interested in actually working with them. I loved the art work it was actually very interesting and all detailed but they all seemed the same to me after a while. As I walked through the second hall my eyes were drawn to this art piece. The detail the way her eyes are formed, how her eyes meet perfectly at the top of her nose and how her eyebrows match the color of her hair. The art piece was created by Maria Monsalvo , but she has not yet titled her beautiful piece.

Ms.Monsalvo drew a girl, a girl that is very special to her, this girl is her sister Jenifer. Jenifer inspired her to draw her for the reason that her mood is always changing. She adds an abstract background to her drawing the background is set to express the real feeling of seasoning and the real feeling of her sisters mood. Her theme was exploring emotional realism.
It took Ms.Monsalvo three weeks in completing this art piece, she clearly took a lot of time and effort to create such a piece. The time she took creating this shows how effectively her message speaks through her art. The detailed birds flying a certain way and how the leaves are falling while the birds are passing is showing how fast her sisters mood can change.

I would like to congratulate Ms.Monsalvo in creating a beautiful drawing, and thank her for giving me an opportunity in viewing her hard work.

    ~"Dedication"

This piece shows an old man who looks like he's been through a lot."Emphasized the wrinkles to show the wear and tears of many years of labor and what it has done to his grandfather". The way he looks says it all, there has been hard times in the past from working long hours in the field, sweating and back aching but at the end of the day he feels good because he knows he has worked hard enough for him to get paid and buy his family all the needs.

This piece caught my eyes because it reminded me of my grandfather, because the wrinkles in his face and his tejena (cowboy hat). Also my grandfather worked for long hours in the fields for plantation. The message that the author Sergio has given to us is that all though times were harder back then and working in the rancho was a very difficult job, and all the things that has happened through that period of time although those wrinkles of aging he yet has a smile and is still living a happy life.

  40. When I walking around in the art gallery I saw many paintings that were beautiful but one caught my attention. It was the painting of Teo Mercado named "The Beauty of Nature". The art work caught my attention because of the trees in the back roun and the girl in the front. I wondered if it represented a lost girl but that wasn't what I thought.
The reason why this piece interested me was because of the detal that you can see. The drawing itself seems very simple its just a girl with a bunch of trees in the back but what makes it different is all the detail that was in it. The girl in the drawing has no extra marks. Also the trees in the background seem realistic The overall painting seems well shaded and the pencil strokes are exact.
The message that the artest is trying to give is that when people get older they become wiser and stronger and more beautiful. And he explains that with the young girl in the front and the different sized trees in the background What he is trying to explain with the tree is that when trees are new and young they are thin and can break easily but overtime they machure and get bigger and stronger when they grow.
The message is very clear and it is right because all of us humans are born as fagil babies we can get hurt very easaly and our brains are weak because we don't know a lot rather then eat and cry. But as we grow we learn new things that make us stronger and when our mind it is a beutifal thing because we can make a difference or recognize what is right from wrong.

  41. Artist Name: Melissa Palafox
    Art Piece: "Pieces of Me"
As I made my way into the multi-purpose room, the ordinary room was transformed into an art gallery. On the walls hung different faces, young and old with all sorts of shading and colors. The room led to a hallway that had a different feel to it. It was smaller, compact and made you follow a certain path. As I made my way to the end of the hallway my attention was caught by a familiar face and a puzzle. I studied the piece carefully. The piece was a drawing of a young girl smiling with puzzle pieces forming together in the background. The left side of the drawing has some pieces already formed but as you look at the right side you see that there are less and less pieces together. Behind the pieces is a dark background.

The piece is by Melissa Palafox which she called "Pieces of Me". The young girl in the piece is Isela Palafox who is the younger sister of the artist. Melissa is giving the viewer the message that "life is a puzzle". To say this she showed that the young people of today are still maturing. Their future is unknown and still forming like the pieces of a puzzle. The art piece shows this by having Isela at the center of the art piece because of her youth. The puzzles forming in the background represent the her life. The pieces already together represent Isela's life so far, while the pieces still forming represent the life ahead of her. The unknown future is represented by the dark background. I felt a connection with this piece because I too have younger siblings who I feel still have a long future ahead of them. The piece made me reflect and realize that we can try to shape our own future but not our siblings'.

  42. Artist Name? Carlos Vargas
    Art Piece Name/ Title? Paradise
How long did this piece take to complete? 1 Month
Is there anything important for spectors to know? that the drawing is good

The painting that I liked the most was called Paradise and it was made by Carlos Vargas. I choose that painting because it showed of a good painter he is and the painting showed emotion and happiness by him painting the red bridge and the old house on the back of the lady he draw and I think for that painting it probably takes like around 1 or 2 months and also, it takes a lot of skill and carefulness to draw a painting like that. I think he draw that painting because for him it shows like if the lady wants to go to San Francisco. Also, another thing that I liked about the painting is that he drawded the painting 3D and it looked cool. Also, the painting looks real like if it was drawed by a famous artist that really paints and also, the painting had a lot of art in it that made the painting look famous and beautiful.
    Art Draft #2
The artist name is Carlos Vargas and his art piece name is called "Paradise" I picked this art piece because it shows that he is very artistic and he drew a lady that probably might be his mom or someone else and that he has the San Francisco bridge in the back because probably that is were he want to go to and his dreams are to be there with the lady or friend he draw there in the art piece. This piece of drawing caught my attention because it shows the expression and the emotions that he has of an artist. The message that the author is giving is that probably the lady or friend wants to go to San Francisco for a trip. He is sending the message effectively because he wants the lady or friend in the drawing to know San Francisco and that he wants to go there too. Also, he made the drawing look realistic and mad ethe drawing look beautiful by the effort and time he put into it. Another reason is that they should put the drawing into a art gallery. Last reason is that he should be a artist.

  43. The minute I entered the hall of VISA I was surrounded by so many astonishing portraits that represent a loved one of the artist. They hang there reveling proudly there appearance and their story that they share. While walking around, Connie Arreguin's portrait grabs my attention. That little smile that is representing his brothers face and the love that he is showing of him loving Thomas the train. Mr. Arreguin holds a special place in his heart and shows this by sketching a beautiful piece of art named "A part of Me" as a representation of always looking back at something to whom you remember someone of. In this case if Mr. Arreguin looks at something related to Thomas the train he remembers his little brother because it was one of the favorite things he liked to watch.

Showing this portrait as an art piece of his brother it seems like Mr. Arreguin and me have a connection. I had a little sister to whom I loved and was glad to have. One of the things that remind me of her was when I look back at red balloons. Red balloons where one of her favorite things that she liked. Mr. Arreguin expresses this image very effectively expressing that he had this love toward his brother that he would never forget. He shows how looking back at things might make you think of someone who you think is very special to you.

  44. Artist name: Carlos Vargas
    Art Piece Name/Title: Paradise
The artist name of this art piece is called Carlos Vargas. Carlos Vargas decided to name his art piece Paradise. A paradise is almost like heaven, this art piece does look like a paradise. When I walked in to the MPR or the auditorium I started looking at the first paintings I saw by myself. All the drawings I saw were really good. I saw a lot of people crowed looking at one picture, so I started to walk over there to see the art piece. When I saw it I couldn't believe my eyes this painting looked for real no wonder a lot of people were crowed to see this picture. This piece looks like it was done in pencil, color pencils, and paint brush, but the artist might of used a air brush. The colors and the painting itself got me attracted to this picture. The girl in the painting was beautiful it was in great detail, it was so amazing. The author says that the girl in the picture is one of this best friend. His friend want to live in San Francisco in the future that's why he drew the San Francisco state bridge. I'm thinking that the house in the background is also going to be her future house, the author doesn't say but am making a good guess. I think that the author really likes this girl because she's beautiful, he drew her in his art piece, and talked about her in the description. His art work speaks very effectively through his drawing, because you can see the girl in the picture in the best detail as possible. Another reason why his art piece speaks very effectively is because he drew the San Francisco bridge and a beautiful house in the background.

  45. As we were walking in the multi-purpose room. We where looking at amazing art pieces, this specific one caught my eye. It was beautiful and very well drawn. This piece was drawn by America Martinez. She titled this piece "Wild True Beauty" .

This drawing caught my eye because it was really well drawn, and it had many things that popped out. The art piece had a drawing of the artist mom in the center. The background had roses and roses and leaves floating and falling above the mothers head. It also had some butterflies flying over her and a tiger beside her. The message of this piece was in the picture it self, everything has a meaning, from the mother in the center, to the rose petals floating and falling above her. The over all theme is family bond, hope, history and stories. Everything in the art piece represents and has a specific meaning. The roses and rose petals represent that you always have to stay strong, no matter what challenges you have in life. The tiger represents family bond. How families have to protect each other and to not separate the bond they have for each other. The butterflies show how problems could change someone's life. Lastly, the mother is in the center, showing her beauty and how strong she is no matter how many problems and challenges she has in her in life.

  46. As I walked through the hallways and looked at the walls of the mpr I see beautifully created artworks. Usually these walls would be bare and plain, but on this day they were filled with artworks that tell a story and mean something to someone. As I was looking at the artworks one in particular caught my attention, the artwork was created by Carlos Vargas. The name of his artwork is Paradise, and the drawing is of his best friend Marissa. Carlos's piece represents how much he cares about his best friend. By drawing Marissa it clearly shows that her friendship is extremely important to him, and he wants to show his admiration for her.
I was extremely impressed with the realism of this artwork, how he clearly drew the San Francisco bridge, and he showed many details and shading on her face. He took the time to add color to the bridge in the background, because San Francisco is his best friends dream city. By adding the color in the background he wanted his best friend to stand out in his artwork. In a way this artwork represents how he wants his best friend to follow her dreams and be able to live in San Francisco.
I was drawn to this piece because of the bright colors and meaning behind the artwork. Friendship is also very important to me just as it is to the artist. I can connect with the artist's piece because I also have important friendships in my life. Both Carlos and I are passionate about our friendships and how important they are for us. I also have admiration for my best friends and care deeply about them, like Carlos admires Marissa. It is a great honor to experience the compassion of friendship through this art, by Carlos Vargas.

  47. As I walked through the hallways and into the MPR on a normal day I would see nothing but the white walls. On one particular day as I was walking through I noticed beautiful pieces of art drawn by many different students. I was really amazed by the artistic meaning that each and every one of them had. My attention was drawn to a piece named Paradise by Carlos Vargas. This is a drawing of his best friend, Marissa, which I believe is a very special person to him. He spent hours of dedication drawing this beautiful piece of artwork. Which shows that he has admiration toward her, and that his friendship with her is really important.
I was very impressed as I saw this drawing because it looks very realistic. The San Francisco bridge in the background makes her really stand out because it is glowing in color while she is in black and white. The time that he took drawing the bridge and putting it in color shows that this is an important place to her, and it is. Since, he says that she would love to live there when she gets older.
I was drawn to this piece, specifically, because it seems to be one of the very few art pieces with color. With this, it made me realize how important friendship is to many. I can really connect to this since I have a best friend as well that I really admire and that my friendship with others is important just as it is to the artist. We both are glad to have friends like them in our lives because they are the ones who shape our daily lives, whether were happy, sad, or mad. It was a great experience to be able to connect to other's love for friendship through art from Carlos Vargas.

  48. "Paradise"
    By:Carlos Vargas
When our teacher first told us about the art gallery walk the first thought that came into my mind was boring!! I was skeptical about it at first. I was not very interested in it or excited.
But on my way into the multi purpose room I was surrounded by many beautiful works of art all over the room. I was looking around the room at the different art works inside. I was so fascinated by all the art pieces that it changed my mind instantly. I walked by many pieces and read the descriptions about them. However, one really caught my attention as soon as I looked at it.It was a beautiful drawing that stuck out as soon as I saw it. It was called "Paradise" and it was made by Carlos Vargas. It looked very realistic and impressive, he drew his best friend in San Francisco. I was drawn to this piece by the immense creativity and detail in it. The color really caught my attention and I was very impressed. Carlos drew his best friend in San Francisco because that's where she has always wanted to move to. The drawing was very beautiful and the color just takes your breath away. He took so much caution to precisely and accurately draw her. The artist was trying to show her dream home where she has always wanted to go. He made the background look colorful and dreamlike to show her really bright future. He admires his best friend so much, shes his greatest inspiration and number one supporter. He wants his drawing to make the audience understand and see her how he sees her. The color really helped interpret her bright future and the San Francisco bridge helped show where she wants to go. The bright colors really looked dreamlike and the house made it seem like she would be successful. The artist did a good job of showing what he thinks. I chose that one over all the others, Carlos has ALOT of talent and all his drawings are so amazing, paradise was just really impressive and amazing. Now I'm looking forward to all the other art galleries coming up.

  49. Artists' Name: Luis Quezada
Title of Piece: "El mero mero"

As I was walking through the halls amazed of all the beautiful portraits the art students have done. Looking at what stories the portraits tell by everything surrounded by the picture. While I walked along only one grabbed my attention and from then on I knew what was happening in the portrait by the symbols. The piece of art was from Luis Quezada. He had drawn his grandfather that has passed away. By looking just at the picture its shows peace and hope. As Luis spent hours and hours taking his time carefully drawing what was once so close to him. Knowing he is in a better place now he wanted to show the strong connection both him and his grandfather had. The family bonds they both shared before loosing his grandfather that he felt like he was his second dad.
In the portrait the mood was very calm and no color was added so the mood won't be too dramatic. There's praying hands on the right side of the picture with a rosary hanging from praying hands. On top of his grandfather there is a rose. And on the left there's a little beam of light coming down. I was drawn to this piece of art because of all the symbols it helps me understand more of what happened. The praying hands in the picture shows that he is now resting in piece and the rosary represents he is now in god's hands. That his grandfather is always going to be there from good to bad but now he's looking down taking care both Luis and his family. I surely do believe that Luis put every detail he can to make this portrait as beautiful as it is. Definitely sending the message that he truly loved his grandfather and he will always be with Luis no matter what.
I was drawn to this piece, specifically, because all the symbols surrounded by picture helped me understand what really happened. I was drawn to the heaven like atmosphere, how everything seems dream-like. I realize that I connected to the artist because I as well lost someone close to me. I lost my grandmother, she was like my second mom when no one was there for me. She is the reason why I am the person I am today. Both Luis and I are grateful of the wonderful people we once had in our life's. But we both know that now they are always in our hearts and looking down on us. I think it was wonderful to experience the act of hope, through art, from Luis Quezada.

    Art Piece Name: Paradise
Why did he draw it? He drew it to his best friend because he thinks she is kind to him and also sweet. He drew it in San Francisco because his best friend wants to move there because she likes how it is pretty over there. He think that she is the most beautiful girl he had ever seen before and she is sweet and honesty with him. She loves San Francisco because she feel peaceful when she is there. His background was draw with lots of color to see her future. He admired his best friend.
I was sitting through the halls I always walk through and i realized that there were drawings all over the walls. Each drawing look nice but there was one that had color and just looked amazing. The drawing was called paradise and it was drawing by Carlos Vargas he drew it because of his best friend.
He drew it because his best friends is the only one that is there for him. When he needs her and he is also there when she needs him. He drew her in San Francisco because in the future she will like to live there. He drew her because she is nice to him and kind, sweet, and understandable for him. He is that kind of person that admires his best friend because he drew her with a lot of color.
This drawing was the best because there were lots of color to it. I really liked it because the way he describles his best friend.

  51. Artist Name: Julian Garcia
    Art Piece Title: My Oldman

As I walked down the small hallway where all the nice and creative portraits hung, one portrait in particular caught my eye. The way that the man's face was drawn with so much detail was so great and I personally like how the lion was drawn as well. The portrait is of a man side by side with a lion with a fierce face. I think that Julian Garcia really expressed the message with his art skills. The message of his piece is, the older you get, the wiser you become. The finishing painting really shows that Julian really took his time on this piece and showed great effort and talent.
The painting, My Old Man, was inspired by a quote that his grandfather Fermin Elias stated. The quote that drove him to doing so was, "When my skin was tight, I was handsome and ignorant but now that my skin has aged, I am old but much more wise." The artist is comparing how the man and the lion have the same unique personalities and how they are both fierce, wise, and leaders. I think that Julian clearly spoke his message through his talented drawing because he drew one of his loved ones next to figure that is very wise.
I was so connected to this portrait because I share the same love for my grandfather as Julian does for his. His art also shows that he is inspired by his grandfather and I am inspired by mine.

The message that he gave to her was really great because he expressed what he felt about her. So that is what makes them really close friends. So this why Carlos drew her friend in a very nice paradise.

I think I was drawn to this piece because of the palm tree and how it just looks so perfect to me. All of the flowers in the piece really help pull everything together. The piece contains a little girl with a flower headband, a teddy bear, a couple Hawaiian flowers, a butterfly, a palm tree, and what seems to be a beach in the background. The message the author is giving through their work is natural beauty. I think this because the presence of a little girl, flowers, and the ocean gives the piece a natural touch to it. The author is trying to say how the memories shared with her little sister will never be forgotten.

    "uncharted promises"

The art piece was very amazing. It had a picture of two boys a big brother and a little brother. It also had a picture of an eagle, rose, water drop, fire, and flowers.

In my opinion this drawing was very touching to me because it showed that his big brother loved and cared for his little brother. The items on the picture were very cool because the eagle represents the protection he gives to his little brother, the rose represents the delicacy he has over his little brother, the water drop represents how tender he is towards his little brother, the fire represents the big brothers temper when something goes wrong, there are flowers on the left part of the picture that represents the little brother how nice he is.

I was drawn to this peace because it showed respect, protection and love to his little brother. I saw that I have a lot in common with this two boys with my big brother because when I am hurt or sad he always cheers me up or even when I'm board he plays any sport that I want to play. Sometimes he does get mad and he doesn't want to play or even talk to me. then I just wait until he gets over it and then it starts over again. I was also drawn to this drawing because it was well drawn. I think Sandra Montes did a very good job to express the boys feelings over each other.

Sandra's message of this art piece was that even if are having trouble with a family member you shouldn't blame it on them or not blame them at all and just get over it.this art piece expresses many feelings such as; anger, love, caring, short temper, happiness. .

  55. "Creativity being born"

Walking in the VISA MPR on the day we had to pick a picture was overwhelming, beautiful art work everywhere but the one that stood out above all for me was a certain art piece created by a young man named Antonio Hernandez. This art master piece that he has created is called “something beautiful” it took Antonio hour’s to think of and draw his picture. Even thought the source of his inspiration is not revealed I think it help his picture by adding on more mystery to his work so where to the point where his viewers began to struggle to thing what is his drawing about and how did he come up with his idea’s.

Antonio’s art work is so abstract that it is memorizing. The shades that he uses to make his work pop out and show depth is amazing it’s like if it was in 3D. Also the detail in the art work was fabulous from the eyeless girl to the elephants trunk that transform into a tree. When i layed my eyes on the picture i knew that this was going to be the picture that i was going to write my review on. so that's why i think that this drawing is the best one at the art gallery.

  56. Art Draft #2
Through the lone hallways at VISA can sometimes be tedious always due to the same schedule but to day was different.Today we had an art exhibit at visa it was an art exhibit looking at each piece was starting to get dull because of the pictures withe the same concept draw a picture of you loved one but that wasn't the problem the problem was that everything i saw was not colored and didn't really speak to me.

It wasn't too long after that when i saw a drawing different from the others this one had color ! not only did this picture have color this piece named "paradise" was magnificent because it told a story that could be decifered by analyzing the drawing one thing that stood out to me was the house in the background what could it mean? was it meant to be a mystery was it there to give hints to a story that could never be revisited? This drawing shows that the artist took time in to actually paying close attention to every detail the golden gate bridge to the girl drawn in this picture.Which brings me to my main point the young lady in this picture she was drawn so perfectly from the shading to the creases in her face. By the way she was drawn i knew she was a happy person it seemed as if she was the light to a dark room the person that you simply couldn't lead your days without i knew that this girl was important to the artist and that when i started to read the description card which stated that she was Carlos's best friend and that he really cherishes his best friend which was the muse to this drawing.

When i finally came around to talking to the artist (Carlos ,Vargas) i asked him an important question which was how long did this drawing take him in which he replied months which had came to my mind before i did believe this because something so detailed could have taken more than a week. After the question i was on my way to the class room and until then is when i realized why i was compelled by this Piece this was like the lantern to a dark room i was amazed by the balanced colors which no other piece contained which made this drawing different.

  57. ''You'll Always be Beautiful and Wise''

While walking through Visa hall with Brenda there were so many beautiful painting but this painting from Teo Mercado caught my eyes because of how beautiful is was and how he made it look so real. The name of the art piece is " The Beauty Of Nature".His art piece represents that age doesn't matter you will always be beautiful and wise. Teo said " She is representing how when people age they become sophisticated while also being beautiful. How when people grow older they become wise. her age relates to the young tree in the background because they are also young compared to the full grown tree closer to the front but as they grow they will become stronger."

I was drawn to the picture because it was the only portrait that really stand out to me. I was drawn to this picture because I like the way that Teo compared they girl to the trees in the back and compared her to beauty and being wise the older you get. I think that his message is so true because everybody is beautiful even though that they don't know that they are beautiful and everybody is wise unless they don't try.I do connect to the portraits because I don't consider myself beautiful but I also don't consider myself ugly and its true the older I get I will become wiser because I love to learn new things even though that they are hard.

  58. The art piece I viewed was Paradise by Carlos Vargas. While I was going through the MPR aka "The Art Gallery" when I first walked into the MPR my eye caught the colorfulness and detail of Carlos's piece. I was amazed how realistic it was, the detail on that piece was just incredibly concrete. His piece is a representation of his beautiful best friend Marissa.
The piece looked like she was going to coming out of the picture it's was so realistic! The way he put color on the Golden Gate Bridge, the Ocean, and the sunset sky he put her in black and white to make her pop. It was jaw-dropping amazing. I love how he made her pop out and show the beauty and her smile come to life. His description perfectly went on what he drew on his piece. He said that he wanted to capture the beauty of her. The background of the picture was of the Golden Gate Bridge and a house she wanted to live in San Francisco in the future. The art piece really did explain everything I mean he did succeed on capturing her beauty and San Francisco.
I can really connect to him because I have an older friend I knew her since I was about 8. She has been there for me through everything just like how Marissa was there for Carlos. When I was reading his piece I was picturing my friend because also she wanted to live in Miami when she finishs college. So I connect really connect to Carlos on his appreciation for his best friend.

  59. Today we were told that we would go to the MPR to admire some beautiful art work. When I was walking down the stairs and through the hallways I was thinking of choosing an art piece that would connect to me and have a strong feeling. As I walked into the MPR I noticed a lot of beautiful art on walls but straight ahead of me was the art piece that caught my attention. This art piece belongs to Carlos Vargas and it was called Paradise. It caught my attention because it had strong meaning about his best friend and what he wishes for her.

The detail that Carlos added was magnificent. Each part of the art meant something important for his best friend. Carlos drew the San Fransico bridge because his best friend wants to move there in the future and he also drew the house because she wants to live there. The way that Carlos drew his best friend with very good detail means that he really cares about her and that he didn't want to mess up on her beauty.

  60. Two weeks ago the 9th grade class went to a Art Exhibition, we walked threw so more than 50 paintings but yet 1 caught my attention. The artist Carlos Vargas made a beautiful painting about his best friend Marissa, he drew her in a calming and healthy atmosphere just the way she pictures her future, you can tell that Carlos put his time and dedication to this painting explaining that his best friend is the one of the people he deeply cares for in this world.

Carlos made the painting look so realistic, so much detail was put into this painting it had color to make it stand out and a beautiful women in the side of the painting. You can see every detail her hair, teeth, to even the bridge of San Francisco. A line in Carlos's Description says" she hopes to move to San Francisco its peaceful and she can get away from all problems". The way Marissa see's San Francisco is the way he drew her in her place of happiness.

This portrait caught my attention for one its coloring is bright and stood out, another reason is because when i read the bio it reminded me of my cousin Wendy , she hopes she can be in a better place for her future and get away from anyone who stops her from her dreams.Wendy is like my best friend and i want the best for her just like Carlos does with Marissa. It is a pleasure going into the Art Gallery and finding this beautiful painting.

His art piece had his best friend in it and she seemed very happy and she was at San Francisco. His best friend means a lot to him shes like one of his most important persons in his life and he cares about his best friend a lot.
Carlos picture had a lot of detail and was like the only one in the room that was colorful and seemed realistic. The thing that really caught my attention on this drawing was that his best friend looked very realistic like if she could get out the drawing. He made her look like she was very happy were

she was at like as if it was her first time being there. He made San Francisco look like a beautiful place.
what drawn my to this piece was that it was colorful and had a lot of detail and it seemed like he really took his time on it. I connect with the artist because My cousin wants to also go to San Francisco but he wants to go there to study but i also hope that he goes there and do what he wants to do.

  62. Selfless Love; By; Jasmine Rivas
This piece of art work that I have chosen while going through the exhibit was Selfless Love by Jasmine Rivas. It is a picture of her father, and her explaining how her father to her means allot She is explaining in this picture the love that man has towards her. She is expressing her love and what she feels through art work; through drawing the guy that she really loves and means a lot to. This picture is also showing how the love of family to her means so much and how she thinks that family love comes first way before anything.
Discovering many different pieces of artwork , that students have chosen I discovered a piece of artwork by Jasmine Rivas. This piece of artwork grabbed my attention because this piece of artwork reminds me of my grandpa that past away three years ago.
Throughout the world we have expired many pieces of art pieces. For example, the work art piece I choice or that caught my attention was this one called Selfless Love by Jasmine Rivas. This piece of art work caught my attention because it reminded me of my father and just the explanation the piece of artwork brings to it. This picture reminds me of my father because he means allot to me & that's the same things thing this person is trying to explain through a piece of artwork.

Today, I saw an Art Exhibit. I saw a lot of portraits, but none were to my interest. I kept walking and passing though each and every one and then I got to one particular piece of art and I loved It. While I was reading it, she explained in her description that just because someone dresses a certain way, doesn't mean that they aren't "Normal." Every person has their unique style in clothing. I thought that piece was inspiring and interesting because it explains that not everyone is interested in the same things. The piece had a guy with his own sense of style on clothing and accessories and he doesn't care what people think about him, because not

  64. We went down to the auditorium and looked at some art pieces. But as I was walking through looking at all the art pieces this portrait caught my attention because there is a little girl smiling with flowers in her hair. There is also a teddy bear next to her. In the background there are flowers and a palm tree. The different shades of gray made it look as if she is relaxed at a beach. So I decided to read more about it and realized that this was her little sister and her name is Yuleni Brambila and she will always be remembered as her little sister. The art piece is called Memories Last Forever and the artist name is Selena Brambila. This art piece represents that memories are never forgotten. She is also trying to represent natural beauty and memorialization. The artist states that memories should be filled with love joy and laughter. The teddy bear represents memories when young. I believe that this art piece does represent youth and beauty. She also says that family is the most important thing in life. This one related to me because i also have a little sister and she is very important to me. I think the one thing we share is that no matter what happens the good or bad we will always love our little sister. But also we will never forget the memories we shared with our little sisters.

  65. When I first walked into the MPR I was amazed at what I saw. I saw these beautiful peaces of art hanging proudly on the wall. The piece of art that caught my attention was Selena Brambila's work. The name of the piece was "Memories Last Forever". The picture had a young girl and in the back round a lovely beach setting which has a palm tree, flowers, and a stuffed teddy bear. I can also tell the artist tried to show the water in the back round as much as possible. The different shades of gray made it seem like the child was relaxed it also made the picture stand out. I was drawn by the back round of the beautiful art piece. The picture made me feel relaxed. The artist was trying to show her love for her younger sibling and how much memories they will share and cherish together. The artists says that family is most important to her and that she will never for get the wonderful times spent with her little sister "Yuleni". This art piece must have taken along time to complete, but the artist has done an amazing job showing all the details of her sisters hair and face structure. This art piece truly is a work of art.

  66. Sacrifice And Determination
The art piece was a picture of Melissa Mejorada's father this art piece is a cool drawing it just was like it was a picture pasted on the paper and if it was me i would of expressed my self the same way as her she appreciates her father. She loves her father i actually talked to her she said her dad inspires her .She also had fun drawing it was a challenge but she got threw it.The message this sends to people is that Melissa's father has made his sacrifices and how he shows no emotions and has determination to do what he wants to do for the better of him and his family the fact that it was so important to her.
I think this drawing because i think its cool and i like how it looks professional the leaves in the back ground the texture is nice. the way she expresses herself is amazing im glad this caught my attention. i was looking for the right one then i saw the drawing it just drew my attention . I bet it look her a long time to finish. This speaks to me because i also appreciate my dads hard work hes a hero to me and im pretty sure she feels the same way.

  67. In Carlos Vargas's "Paradise" art piece, both the hues of grey and the vivid shadow
of his friend behind the San Francisco golden gate bridge looks very happy. The
portrait of the woman in the drawing, which is a portrait of her best friend, caught
my attention the minute i put eyes on it. I was really draw to it because it was happy
and both dark and vivid. It was trying to give the message on his point of view on how
his friends look like in his eyes. It was effective because the shades he used and how
he so knew where to put the vivid colors in the background made it perfect in every
shape and form. His best friend, the person he drew must me really proud of him. This
artist is trying to show what his best friend is like the real her. in his eyes his best friend
is like an angle to him. Sh is perfect in every, way ,shape, and form. She has a perfect
personality. She has high goals to move to San Francisco. I to have a friend that i admire
as much as Carlos admires him.

  68. Walking down the Art Gallery in the V.I.S.A halls there was many pieces that stood out to me. The artwork that really caught my eye was "The Beauty of Nature". The artist of this intriguing artwork was Teo Mercado. I was drawn to this image by the realistic features it had. For example their significant other's hair it flowed so naturally in the image. The different shades of grey worked perfectly together as well.

This art piece was pretty simple containing a few pieces. The trees in the background were placed in a significant order; older(thicker) in the front and younger(thinner) in the back. The image also contained the artist's significant other.

The artist message that was clearly stated was how "aging made you sophisticated". This was represented through the trees in the background. It showed how the older trees were just beautiful compared to the younger and fragile trees. The artist said this was also represented by their significant other who through aging is becoming a young sophisticated women.

  69. Walking around the gallery seeing all the beautiful art work Teo Mercado's art piece in particular really caught my eye because its very old fashioned when it comes to the color schemes ;but still very beautiful and unique in the placement of the women with the trees in the back. This color scheme is very beautiful to me and one of my favorites . Another thing that caught my eye is how realistic the women features are so realistic and proportionate ; not to mention her beautiful hair and how defined it looks even in the drawing. I believe that this art piece is very beautiful and so realistically correct . The environment surrounding the picture also really caught my eye because its so well drawn and shows various dimensions .

The message that the artist showed through the picture is that aging makes you more sophisticated . He showed this through the the trees ; the young little trees are in the back and the old ones to the front which shows the present. This really gets his message through because it shows the aging of the women . He also shows the women as shes getting stronger as do the trees in the art piece. I feel that this message is very strong it shows how this women has grown . Not only has she aged but has become stronger as a person which is shown in the durable, thick, and healthy nature in the front closest to her .

Teo Mercado's work portrays his message tremendously well . He has incorporated his message in all the components of this art piece . This is why i was so intrigued my the piece.

This art piece is beautifully decorated with what means a lot to the author. He chose to draw the famous San Francisco bridge as his background.Another thing that he drew a nice big house behind the girl in his drawing. The girl in his drawing is his best friend. The artist drew his best friend because he thinks that she is amazing. He thinks shes beautiful, sweet, honest, intelligent, hardworking, strong, brave etc. He drew her in San Francisco because she wishes to live there in the future. As he explains, She loves the city! She says that she feels at peace when shes there, she forgets about everything including all her worries. The drawing is a mixture of different colors which is very interesting, and very eye catching. It was actually the colors that caught my attention. The artist explains that he made the background colorful and dreamlike because it represents his best friends future. Bright! The artist admires his best friend. He says that his best friend has always been there for him. The artist must really love his best friend to have drawn something so beautiful. She must hold a special place in his heart. He believes in her dreams, so that is why he drew her with a San Francisco background!

  71. Walking through the halls can normally be boring but on this day I felt like I was walking in a real art gallery. All the art pieces were amazing but in Martin Hernandez's "Together for Life" art piece caught my eye because both the shades of grey and the vivid shadow of the Mayan temple shows his Mexican heritage and pride in where hes from. The man in the portrait is his fifteen year old uncle and it caught my attention as I observed the gallery because I was immediately drawn to view the details of Martin's "Together for Life" because of his shading. Martin's art work shows his love for his uncle and his race very effectively, he said " I love him to death."

  72. As I was walking around the school's MPR and hallway, which was now turned into a gallery filled with extravagant pieces of art, my eyes caught sight of one particular art piece. I was soon drawn into Teo Mercado's " The Beauty of Nature" because of how amazingly beautiful the young woman was drawn and the carefully drawn features on her face.Once I began to look at the portrait longer I began to become more and more fascinated by the different shades of grays being used in this image. The trees in the background tie together the whole image because it shows the beauty of nature and humans and how they both consist the same kind of beauty, not only physical beauty but also mental beauty.

The woman shows the physical beauty of life while the trees in the back show how they have endured much throughout their life which makes them stronger and more resistance to the struggles of life. The strongness the trees posses represent the mental beauty the artist mentions. The message the author tries to speak is clearly shown in his art piece and shows that nature consists both physical and mental beauty.

    Art piece name: Dark tunnel
While I was walking through the hallways in the beginning of my day I started noticing that there were paintings in the walls after I started looking at these paintings and there was one that really caught my eye because it looked very symbolic to me. The dark circle in the back is a very good symbol representing her dark past. That is something that most people have or had but yet again the time is going to come when you start leaving that dark past and be free. The way she is in beauty is very nice because even though it seems that she has lived a normal life with no barriers, her past has really scarred her according to the description Another thing that made me choose this painting was the description of it. I really liked it because It describes what most of us has been through and that we know that we are not the only people that have been through this. The dark circle says a lot because it shows how she turns her back on the dark side. The message that the author is giving through his work is that there is always going to be a time that you will be free and out of all that pain and start working hard to be able to move forward. Those are the type of people that we should honor. Just buy looking at the picture you could see the message that the author is trying to show to others.

  74. Artist Name:Daniel Ramirez
    Art Peace Title:"`Life Cycle"
When our digital class went to the multi-purpose room we walked through beautiful art works that told the stories of the artist art. As i past by i saw Daniel Ramirez's work that caught my eye the most, which he had drawn his great-grandmother. The great detail that was put on her hair and also how you can distinguish the age difference. I could tell that the artist had taken a great amount of time sketching his wonderful art work. His great-grandma might have been a really special person for him since Daniel decided to make his art work and tell the story about her.
The story he told about his art work was about the Life cycle and how his great-grandma overcame the difficulties of life. His great-grandma had to overcome the difficulty of aging and also how she had to go though lots of difficulties. Daniel also want the others to connect with the art piece by saying how every one has to go thought struggles but even though you feel like giving up that you should just over come your should never give up and keep moving forward

  75. Artist name: Cynthia Manzo
    Art Piece name/title: Youthful Radiance
While we're walking downstairs into VISA's MPR, I notice how beautiful and detailed every work of piece. Although every work of art was so amazing the statement behind the work of art that stood out was an art piece titled youthful radiance an art work by Cynthia Manzo. This piece has a yellow contrast to the gray portrait of Cynthia's younger sister Kailey Manzo. I like how her hair and how its pushed back like air was blowing through it. I also like how the artist drew her a have smile instead of an entire full smile. What mostly stood out to me was how the author chose the grey behind the yellow. The artist interpreted the little innocence of youth and how a little kid live in their own world.Cynthia translated how the girl is looking up and how mysterious and confuse she looks with a half smile.
I can connect to the author, of my bond with my little cousin of when she's playing and she wonders off. Of how she will grow up and her world will change to worries and her innocent heart will soon be full of the world. How innocent she is and how she is so unconcern of what is really out there in the world.

    Artist name: Nerina Preciado
    Art piece name/title: untitled
While we're walking downstairs into VISA's MPR, I notice how beautiful and detailed every work of piece. This is also one of my favorites art pieces that I saw. My favorite physical appearances of all the art work I saw I have to say this one was my favorite. This untitled art piece has a yellow contrast to the gray portrait of Nerina's cousin Alejandra Barajas. What is ultimately my favorite part of this drawing is how Nerina drew her cousin's eyebrows and how long and full her eyelashes are.
Nerina is sending a message through her art piece is Nerina's cousin and Nerina herself bond and their communication. That even though she will grow and mature they will always have a bond and her and Alejandra will always be family. I share this bond with my cousins since I don't have a sister and me ad my cousin have always been close and no matter what in life we will always talk and be family. Nerina clearly states and speaks her work of art through how she puts a grey portrait and the yellow makes a contrast.

  76. In the drawing above a artist named Carlos Vargas named his drawing Paradise. I looked at this drawing and my first thought was how beautiful this drawing was. The colors were really put in a well contrast between black and white. The expression on the girls face really shows that she is happy and not a care in the world. The little details that bring it the drawing together. Like her face were her cheeks are a good shade, her eyes are really centered, and her hair just looks amazing the way it was drawn all the way down to the curls. The way the bridge is colored a bright red that shows that it is peaceful, the horizons color they are a really just a good mixes of colors. The red, yellow, orange, and white colors used right make a awesome or epic background to it.
The reason why Carlos drew this magnificent picture was that he wanted to draw a picture of his best friend and her favorite place. The place that is behind her is San Francisco since in the artist bio. It also says that she wants to live their one day. The describes his friend as a very smart, beautiful, kind hearted person, and likes to be around her. I can tell from this picture that he cares about her.

  77. Today we went to art exhibit that they had at school and the students drew photos of there memories and people that were important to them. This was their project and they really took there time with it you could see how much time and effort they but into it. All the strokes following one another looking making me picture it in my head. The picture contains a rose and rosary which symbolizes peace and love.

The artist of the drawing was Luis Quezada the name of the his drawing was "El Mero Mero" because that's what he would call his grandpa he loved his grandpa a lot they would always talk and help each other out with their problems. I could see with every stroke that he really cared about this picture and wanted it to come out his best. I also saw him working on this drawing in 7th period I was amazed by how hard he would work on it and he would stay after school and get more tips from his teacher. This drawing captured my attention because The way he drew it it looks well done and neat not rushed.

  78. Today in our Art Exhibition I saw a Portrait that really stood out to me. The portrait was a drawing of a man with flowers on the top and two hands with a rosery. The artist was Luis Quezada and the drawing was of his grandpa. It really stood out to me because he was really close to his grandpa and he was talking about how much he misses him and that he had a really good relationship with him.

I can also relate to him because I also lost my grandpa not a long time ago. I was also really close to him but we lived far way from him and when ever we went to go visit him he was happy and so were we. But when we passed away we were all really sad and I never had the chance to say goodbye to him.
I really liked this drawing it was the one that stood out to me the most. There was other ones but i liked this one the best.

  79. In my digital literacy class we had a trip to our art gallery at the MPR. While we were there we had to choose a art piece that catches our attention. Jessica Garcia's drawing caught my attention. Her piece if called "Last one, Here For You", she drew a picture of her youngest sister, Alesandra Garcia, where it seems to look like shes floating in the clouds peacefully.
This picture caught my attention because I've always wanted a younger sister to teach her right from wrong also to have someone to take care of. I also think that if I have a younger sibling it will bring my family together like hers did.
I love the way her picture of Alesandra showed the glow in her face and had made her look beautiful. Her picture had lots of details and showed her at a peaceful cloud all by herself and that they want great things from her. Also that they have expectation for her as the youngest and the last child. That she will always be there for her and she knows that she'll do great things. I understand that they expect her to do great things because that's what they expected for me to do.
Jessica Garcia's art shows that her love for her sister and how she feels through her art work. I also love that I was able to relate to her amazing art.

  80. As me and my classmates were leaving to the auditorium of V.I.S.A, in my mind i had already imagined how beautiful the Art Displays would look once we got there. The moment we got there you could see how much Carlos Vargas' portrait stood out compared to all the other portraits because of how color full it was, and that's what grabbed my attention. It was so beautifully done all i wanted to do was stare at for ever! "Paradise" was the name that Carlos had given his beautifully drawn art work. I say beautifully drawn because its so well drawn that you might think it was an actual photo of his best friend, but it was all created by pencil and color pencils. Carlos' art piece -Paradise- attracted me so much because of all the detailed work that was put on to it. Carlos decided to draw his best friend because she is his greatest inspiration & his number 1 support. He drew her in San Francisco because she loves it there and wants to move there in the future. She loves the city so much and she feels peaceful every time shes there. The artist also talks about how she forgets about all her problems when she visits.
Carlos Vargas drew her the way he sees her and the background represents what he thinks when he sees her. He just wants people to see her the same way he sees her by his amazing artwork, and his message is well delivered right through his art work.

that they want you to read about. Seeing all the colorful photos that the artist took their time in their artwork, but this art
piece in particular caught my attention. The colorful artwork and the big red golden state bridge. The detail he put into this work that
must have taken him a large amount of time.
The artwork made me feel different compared to any other this colorful art piece is just beautiful with all different colors.
This art piece was made by Carlos Vargas the one and only that drew this art piece.

  82. Once walking into the MPR or on the hallways next to it, I couldn't believe it, a numerous number of beautiful paintings. They were all remarkable but there was one that caught my attention right away, Paradise. This painting was by a young aged man names Carlos Vargas. After seeing this painting I noticed that this boy has a real talent.

I believe that this was the best painting in the room. It had three main thing. At the bottom Left there was a girl probably around her 18 years of age. Beside her there was the golden get bridge with beautiful waves under with a blue fused with a greenish color. On the top left, above the girl there is house, a big old looking house. My favorite part had to the color of the clouds above the mountains in the background. They have a pink, purple, and bluish color. The artist states that the young girl is her best friend and that when she grows up she wishes to move up to San Francisco. I think that this message would be pretty clear through the painting.

Carlos Vargas was the guy who made this really pretty painting. He choose to draw the picture because of his friend who inspires him so much. She is his greatest inspiration and did this drawing for her and her bright future. He made the background all bright because of her bright future ahead of her. The girl plans on moving to San Francisco when she is older to go to college as it is seen in the picture.

It was a really nice art drawing especially since i see a lot of art drawings since i see a lot on a app and there all really nice. Most of them were really nice but most of them weren't as nice as the one that i saw.

As I walked around the MPR, I couldn't find an art piece that really stood out until I saw this colorful drawing. This art piece titled Paradise was drawn by Carlos Vargas. I was amazed when I laid eyes on this drawing. This drawing was very detailed and neat. The women was well drawn and seemed to look very real and captivating. The colors really made the women in the drawing stand out and I really enjoyed how the colors really made the background look so realistic. I've always wanted to see the San Francisco bridge in person and seeing it in the drawing satisfied me and I started imagining myself in front of the bridge and seeing it with my own eyes.
To be honest I really don't know what the artist is trying to say with this drawing but I am eager to find out. I could try to give multiple explanations of what this painting means but I probably would never get close to seeing what this would mean. I guess the bridge, house and women are connected in some way but I really don't know how.

  85. Connie Arreguin
    "A Part Of Me"

This art was about how the artist drew a picture of her little brother. Her little brothers name was Emmanuel Arreguin. The reason why she did the picture is because her little brother means everything to her. She told a little story how her little brother was about to leave to mexico she said even though the distance was really gonna be far she love her so much more then she will ever have. The symbol she did to represent her little brother was Thomas the train. what that symbol means is love, memories, and how much she loves him. The Artist of this picture is Connie Arreguin.
I was drawn to this Piece of art because from my point of view this drawing really out shined most of the drawings that were their. I say it does because it very describable by just looking at the drawing. When i first what first came into my mind is this is the artist little brother in the back round it had a little drawing of Thomas the train. What I really like about this picture is that they put a lot of detail into it and it said so much by just looking at the picture.
The message that Connie Arreguin is trying to tell us with her beautiful piece of work is that she loves her little brother more than any other person that lives in this world and that nobody will ever take her little brothers spot which is him being her best brother and she would not ask for anything else. Even though if in the future they go their different ways Connie says that it does not matter about how far he is from me i will always love him. One main reason why she did draw this picture about him is that when she is together with her little brother they have a lot of fun together, So when she always looks back at this picture it is representing memories, love, and beauty. What represented Emmanuel Arreguin is Thomas the plane it represented him because that is his favorite show.

As I walked into the MPR and saw this piece of artwork, it immediately caught my attention. I wanted to know what it symbolized and the story behind it.I walked toward the art and read that the name of this amazing artwork is named Wolf guardian by Victor Virgen. The name of this artwork describes the painting very well. It symbolizes the wolves protecting the girl. The wolves are supposed to be him protecting a girl that he loves, protecting her from all bad things. He is protecting her from sadness and other emotions that don't keep her happy. I think that when he was drawing this, he was trying to represent love, protection, and happiness.

Art piece name: Wild true Beauty

Walking through the VISA looking at all the pictures I saw this piece out of all the other ones. The title of the piece was Wild True Beauty made by America Martinez. This piece was showing other objects are somehow related to themselves, but only showed natural things instead of man made things which got my attention to how it was somehow had to relate to the person she drawn in this piece. The piece showed a person in the middle, roses, a tiger and a butterfly.I was really drawn to this piece because it was showing me something that was interesting and was also a unique piece to me as well. This piece to me was also interesting because it also had to be something special to America that made her draw this piece of art.
The message that the author was given through her work was how her family had a difficult struggle in their lives but try to overcome those obstacles together as a family and help each other with the problems.I could see how she was showing it in the piece she created and the things she incorporated in the art. America tried to show this in her art work by putting her mother which she thought her mother was really important to her and resemble the whole family.Next to her mother or behind her mother were some of the things that symbolize her family being strong through problems faced and overcoming them in the end.
This in my opinion can also share what others also had in similar ways to their on family members in some way.America gave this message to herself and for others that had similar ways like her family does. When I see this piece again I can see how her family had hard times and also see my family having the same problems and overcoming them by being strong.

  88. Artist Name: Melissa Mejorada
Art Piece Name: Sacrifice and Determination

The art pieces that roam many hallways have different perspectives. The art piece by, Melissa Mejorada, is a particular one called Sacrifice and Determination. This piece has a simplicity that drags the attention of the audience. This particular piece can be simpler than simple. The portrait of the artists father with such a blank expression is so straight forward it's almost painful. But in that face you can see a dash of expectation and temper. The background is a scenery of a facile tree with light dangling leaves surrounding the artists fathers head. This art piece drew me to it because the same idea or perspective of the artists father portrait reflects my idea of my father. A man whose gone through more than expected. Yet they show no expression hiding their own worlds from the real world.
Through the artists work there is a message that people will not plainly see. This mans expression hides his whole life.He has given the people he loves what they need. Hes been through pain, suffering, and has sacrificed so much. The tree at his back signifies the peace he so desperately wants and the peace he shows the world that he supposedly has, and this is because he uses that to hide his true life. This art speaks to those people with similar problems . I believe it clearly shows the idea of the drawing. Many people have gone through things probably unimaginable. But these people most of the time don't even think about what has happened. They continue their lives trying to the best for them and the people they love. Regular people may see them one day and leave the next not knowing a single thing about that person. There could be more in a single color than in a whole rainbow. Clearly here in this portrait much thoughts and feelings were put into this. This portrait has shown much and can show a lot more as well.

On this day in V.I.S.A we had an art gallery that was very impressive because of the talent we have here in the school. The artworks were creative and had meaning an proudly hanging in the walls for all to see the talent as well as the stories and meaning behind them. The artwork/portrait that caught my attention the most was by Nerie Sanchez. The way she drew her mother and representing her beauty and motherly vibe. The flowers in the background describing how happy she was and how she probably likes flowers and they represent peace and calmness. the artists mother meant a lot to her since the beginning of her life since she has remembered it. The artists mother nurtured her daughter till this very day, and says she will till the end of her time. The artiest is grateful for having her mother in her life to be there for her when she needs it the most. The artist wanted to repay her mother by drawing her in a sunflower garden with the flowers already bloomed. Then artist loves her mother very much in a passionate and lovely way.
The way i related to this portrait or why it was meaningful or eye catcher was because i did a portrait as well of my father and it was somewhat because of the love she has for her mother i have for my father. We have the same appreciation for our parents and that they have so much meaning to us. I understand her when she drew her mother because she was her whole world and my family is my whole world and we choose them for the same reason.

    by Kelly Morales

Walking through the halls of our school V.S.A can be doll same us usual same colors, same people noting out of the ordinary. But this one day our schools art class was assigned to draw a painting of some one they admired. Our class was allowed to go look at the paintings they have painted. As I walked into the mpr. I was amazed at "KELLY MORALES" art work. She had drawn her little nice who looked almost the same as my little sister that was what attracted me to her painting. As I began to read Kelly's view of her painting I she made me how much society can take a child's innocence away in a blink of an eye.

I was starting to see how innocent children of my sisters age act and the way kids our own age act. As a little kid we were able to accept forgiveness with a simple apology or hug. But as we get older it becomes harder to forgive someone with a simple apology. Why is that? How is that little kids can be upset for a second and the next minute be happy again. But someone older can be upset for days at a time even with an apology. How can we go from forgiving to none forgiving so fast. If it were possible I would like to keep my little sisters innocence forever so she would not have to see how curl and how much hatred there is in our society.

  91. "Part of me"
    By: Connie Arreguin

While I was walking around the mulit-purpose room and admiring all the amazing and beautiful art work and how good the piece were. They were hang on the wall so proud were everyone can see them. When I went into the hallway to see some more art piece, the one art piece that really caught my eye was Connie Arreguin's "Part of me." When I first saw the art work I was like "hey I know that little boy, that's manny." Emmanuel Arreguin "manny" is one of my best friend little brother, which is Connie and Manny sister Lizet. Manny is the cutest little boy ever with is big oh checks. Connie Arreguin loves her baby brother manny so much, there will always be a special place for him in her heart. This is just a beautiful art piece, the art piece has Connie's little brother manny drawn with special detail in his shirt, face and hair. It also has a very unique set of train tracks with Thomas the train flying in the air. Thomas is one of manny's favorite thing in the world.

I was drawn to this piece because how good and detail it was drawn but mainly of the story behind the art piece. The story behind it that at one point of Connie's life she was about to lose her baby brother because he was going to move far away from her and her life. With the train track that she drew, it shows that no matter how far manny moves away she will away find a way to get back to him. Connie drew Thomas the train because that is one of manny favorite thing in the world and it was the thing that always made happy. So every time she sees Thomas it will remind her of her brother's happiness and she will know that he is happy, where ever he is.

Both Connie and I were going to have someone that we really care about move far away from us. Connie and manny's sister is one of my best friends and when she told me that she might move far away I almost cried because she is like a sister to me and I didn't want to lose her. She is the one that is always there for me, the one that listens and cares about my problems, she is my go to for advice, she's is my best friend and I didn't want to lose her. It is an honor to experience this much love through out a family, through art, from Connie Arreguin.

  92. When we went to the exhibit i saw a variety of portraits. Most of the portraits were of people that inspire the drawer or were people that past away and mean a lot to them. One drawing that caught my eye was Carlos Vargas drawing. The name of his art piece was "Paradise". Carlos drew his best friend that he enjoys having in this life.

Carlos drew his best friend Marissa in a beautiful way. He also drew different kinds of flowers with beautiful colors representing all the colorful things about his best friend Marissa. Carlos also drew the San Francisco bridge next to her because his best friend wants to go and live in San Francisco when she gets older. Carlos drew a house in the back ground because Marissa told him that one day she will work hard to buy her own house in San Francisco.

trying say is that she loves her family in a way that she can speak in.

  94. In Carlos Vargas's art piece "Paradise" he drew a girl in different shades of grey and next to her is the San Francisco Bridge painted in lively colors. The girl in the drawing is his best friend. He drew her near the bridge because that is where she wants to live in the future, he used the vibrant colors to represent her bright future. I was drawn to this piece of art because of the contrast between the two sides of the portrait. The grey side where her face is drawn in dull colors, but still beautifully drawn and the vibrant side which is like your in San Francisco watching the sunset. The artist's message is that he wants to see his best friend smiling and living a happy life. The artist did a wonderful job of drawing his best friend in her bright future. Where she is smiling and living in the place where she wants to be.

  95. The bright young woman in the city of San Francisco

My journey started walking down the stairs of Vaughn International Studies Academy. As I walked the cold corridors, I turned and saw an entrance to a Multi- Purpose room. It was there when I saw a vivid, detailed, and an adroit piece of art displayed for all the eyes of men, woman and children to see. The color of the art piece caught my most utter attention with its vivid contrast and vibrant colors. The effect of the portrait popping of the page and its life like structure made my eyes stay on the piece for quite a moment. The artist tried to portray how beautiful his best friend is in his art. He showed her as a bright young woman with a great and bright future. He shows his best friends dreams of living in the city of San Francisco. In his explanation he says that his best friend loves the city of San Francisco. He reflects how he really loves his dear friend. I can connect to this piece of art because I as well have a best friend that I truly love. She is so beautiful and so incredibly smart.

  96. Walking into the MPR admiring all the beautiful artwork posted on the walls. There was so much artwork but my teacher told me i had to choose one piece of art. It was so hard because there was so many beautiful pieces of art. Then this one specific piece of artwork stood out to me. It was a picture of a little girl holding a teddy bear. I thought it was very cute especially of how good the bear came out. I then chose the artwork Names "Memories Last Forever" as the art piece that really got my attention. The artist who drew this artwork was a girl named Selena Brambila. When i realized who the artist was I was very shocked for two reasons. One because the person who drew the at piece was my very own sister and second, because I've never seen her draw this good. I really liked the way she drew the little girl with the beach background and her holding her teddy bear. While looking at the artwork i then realized i knew who the little girl on the piece was but i just couldn't remember who it was. This then brought me very old memories. I noticed it was my little sister at the age of like 3. She is now 8 years old. This made me remember how she would never let go of her teddy bear no matter were we went. She lost her teddy bear one day. My mom doesn't know were but she thinks it was the day we went to the beach.

What was the statement of this art piece : When My class went to the art gallery there were art pieces all around the room on the walls then I ask a friend witch was his he told me he drew a picture of his grandma so I look around a I saw a picture saying the name Xavier Robles. The summery under the picture said He drew his grandma to show his felling for his grandma and how he would protect her . I though this picture was nice of Xavier to draw his grandma because it shows he cares and not many people would draw a picture of a family member to show there felling for them. This picture got my attenuation because some I know drew it and it was pretty good.

While walking through the amazing art gallery here at V.I.S.A. One specific art piece stood out to me the most; it was a girl with a heart shaped basketball on her side and colorless. This art piece drew my attention by the way it was. For example, the basketball and the way it was shaped. It portrayed to me with such happiness and forgiveness. This art piece was the work of Isaiah Cooper. He called his piece Storge and Basketball which means the love of basketball. I interviewed this artist and asked him why he chose this person to draw. He replied with; I chose the person closest to me which is my best friend. What does this piece trying to communicate to the audience? I asked. "I’m trying to communicate that she’s optimistic and she’s always looking forward." said Isaiah. This piece took him 3-5 weeks to draw. I asked him why he chose basketball why not something that represented her, why not a different sport. And he replied with; “I chose basketball because that’s how their relationship as friends came about.”
This message came to me. She was mysterious and seemed like she was telling her own story in her own way, her way of being optimistic. He was trying to show that even though she’s a girl she has her own story. I asked him why he had left his piece colorless, why not add color to her features. Why not portray her beauty? He replied with; "I thought the color and black shading could portray the optimism I was trying to express especially in her eyes. The black background shading shows her past and how she can always look beyond her troubles.

One day when I went into my second period my teacher said we were going to go to the mpr to look at some art work. When we went down stairs to look at the art work there were a lot of different kinds of pictures but there was one that caught my attention and it was the only one with color and it was Carlos' picture. 100. Carlos decided to draw his best friend. He said she was "kind, sweet, beautiful selfless, hardworking, intelligent, honest, brave, brave, strong, and absoluteness amazing."He did not mention a name but when you saw this picture you can tell what a friend she is to Carlos and what he knows about her. He drew the Golden gate bridge in the back cause she wishes to move there in the bay area when she gets older and moves out.. He took his time drawing the picture trying to catch her beauty by taking note of every detail and it came out a beatiful peace of art.. She inspires and supports him therefore he chosed her out of all the amazing people of his life that help him everyday. I think it is every clear why this picture was the favorite out of the others than filled the walls. He took his time to catch her beauty and yet the outcome a beautiful piece of art. He is still young and his art can get way better than it is currently. I personaly think he should countinue cause he has an amazing talent few hold.

The picture I was drawn to was the art piece of Christopher Dieguez " blooming out ". The art piece was about his friend Nerina Preciado and in the paragraph it explained how he saw beauty in her. He chose to title it natural beauty because she is very pretty and he saw that in her. The background he drew was flower to explain the party of nature . He said that beauty is not only based in looks but on somebodies personality

    Nerie Sanchez
The artists vision for the painting was of her mom. The meaning for this specific painting was that her mother meant a lot to the artist in a big way. The artist took about one month to draw this magnificent portrait.

On this day at Vaughn we had a Art Gallery. The artists who drew this was Nerie Sanchez. Here at VISA we have a lot of enthusiasm for Art. This portrait was inspiring because of the way the artist drew her mother as well as explained the meaning of her. She drew her mothers happiness and joy as she drew the background with flowers to express her calmness, and freedom. She tried to show her mother is in her world and always will be, also that her happiness and understand is why the author cares about her. The artist expressed how her mother meant a lot to her in her life now and will mean more later on down the line. Then artist has a lot of meaning behind this portrait but it takes to time for you to understand the way it comes out or the way it is expressed.
The way I relate to this is portrait is because, I love my mom a lot to and she means the whole world to me. My mom will go above and beyond for me sometimes and that's why i love her so much.

A woman is capable of doing anything she wants in her life without no one telling them they can't . It takes time of dedication to get better at something such as take time on art classes sports and even school subjects. It looks like this art piece relates to the every women should have same respect as everyone and freedom

Just a while ago we went downstairs and walked around halls, that walls were filled with Art Pieces of peoples most important stories or representing themselves or something. As i walked around looking at these beautiful art pictures and stories. This one caught my attention, i read the article and she talks about how women should have equal rights as men. Women should have there right even that they do and she talks about how women are strong and nothing should hurt them. One of these things that caught my attention is she was inspired by her sister to draw and little brothers/sisters look up to there older ones and the older one should keep there example in being a good person so that the younger ones can see and realize things. Also another thing is how everyone is talented in some way you just have to try.

This painting was well done in detail and drawn. It shows he took his time to do the drawing . I would of liked to see some color on the girl so it would stand out. The girl in the image and the whole image takes me black my best friend who is the light to my darkness . the feeling he felt with her is the feeling i have had with my best friend. Its a great feeling . That not so many people can have either cause there parent told them or cause they have seen in bythemselves.

  105. Carlos Vargas

On this trip down to the art gallery I saw many portraits most of the artist portrayed their art by the people who inspired them the most in their lives. They wrote about why that person inspired them and how they feel about that person. I felt that the artist really took their time on their art and finding inspiration.
Carlos Vargas' art caught my attention because he explains what his artwork means and how he was inspired by Marissa Garcia so much that he portrayed her through his artistic skills. His artwork was called "Paradise" it was called that because he drew Marissa at San Francisco where he says that she wants to move there in the future to escape all worries and to pursue her dream.

This artwork is a representation of the artist's other, Denise Lepe. when creating this portrait, he wanted to make the theme about beauty and living life strong and smart. She is representing how people age they become sophisticated while also being beautiful. How when people grow older they become wise. Her age relates to the young trees in the background because they are also young compared to the full grown trees in front, but as they grow older they will become stronger. Not just will they become more stable as they grow but they will appear to be a lot beautiful when they are taller and bigger. The full grown tree is one she will relate to to when she also grows older, after she goes through the lessons of life and will learn plenty lifelong lessons.Like the trees there will be an end to their lives, but from the tree they leave a seed that will produce more a growing tree and the cycle would continue. As will the cycle of life with the people of the world. So lives of people are similar to the lives of nature in a forest.

Seeing through the galore amount of paintings in one of VISA's hallways and the multipurpose room showed me the perspective and lives of each different artist and student. One that really caught my eye was Teodoro Mercado's masterpiece. It was just ravishing i could't stop looking at the way the artist portrays her its just beautiful. The girl has a city girl look but the woods on the background made it look like she doesn't always has to be that city girl.

This painting also portrays nature in its ever lasting radiance which really it was perfect to be called The Beauty of Nature. What really brought my attention was the way her eyes pop out there just radiant and magnificent and shows her innocence. The message also shows that humans can be happy without living in the cities where people don't have a great look at nature since there to busy playing with their electronics yet she shows how she can be happy without a single thing that is seen as technology.

    Art Piece: Paradise

A normal day at VISA you walk through the halls and see nothing but plain walls. But one day, it was different there was many beautiful drawings hanging from our walls and our school's MPR. The art piece that was drawn to my attention Paradise made by Carlos Vargas. The main reason I was attracted to the art piece was the use of black and white with a hint of color. Also, the realism in each portion of the drawing. In his portrait he decided to draw was of his inspiration which was his best friend Marissa Garcia and the admiration that he has for her. He shows the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco a place where she wishes to be in the near future. Also, where Marissa would like to go to escape all worries and where she choose to pursue her dreams.

where did the concepts for your piece completes come to you- one month
if there's anything about the piece that is important for spectators to know-no
how long did this piece takes to complete- one month

The painting that I looked at is called the Paradise. It was a good drawing. I never know that someone could draw that good. I really like that picture. The gallery piece was professional. It must take time to do the drawing. Mostly all the drawing was nice though, but the one who really stood to me was Carlo Vargas. It take time to do this kind of painting like this. the drawing has a women face and a San Francisco red bridge. The drawing of this women looks like it was copied from a computer and pasted on the word document. Which it took place at San Francisco. The express that the author is giving is that the society could be friends. also I think that the author thinks he women wants to go to San Francisco in her dream.
Throughout the day, today was different because at the hallways where the drawings has been posted up. The artist name is Carlos Vargas. And the art piece that he made is called The Paradise. Well, the art piece is mostly about is that this women who is in San Francisco and she is happy where she is at. I think this woman came to San Francisco for the first time, and it looks like that she enjoyed San Francisco.

The reason why i was drawn to this piece of art is that it must takes allot of skill to draw like that and it also amazed me to. I think the author message is giving the art piece is that, you should enjoy life where ever you go and visit around the world. Also the author is speaking to the art piece is that the people could enjoy life right now and don't stop or they will missed the fun things that had happen in their life. The art piece wasn't to big or to small to fit that fine art piece in the poster. The bridge of San Francisco in the back because maybe that's the place the artist wanted to go in his dreams or someday. Or he wanted to be with the lady that is in the picture in his dreams. this piece of drawing had caught ,my attention because it represented the bridge of San Francisco and wants to meet a senora at San Francisco. the emotion of this picture is that the artist really wants to go to San Francisco just for fun or a reason why he wanted to go. In my expression is that the only reason why he wanted to go to San Francisco is that he had never been to that place and wanted to see.

That's the only reason why I like this art piece because it actually caught my attention than any others pictures that they are hang up on the wall at the hall way. for this kind of art piece, it must take a very long time and a lot of skills to make such good picture. it really caught my interest.

  112. Looking in the MPR for a art piece I soon found myself drawn to a piece named "Paradise" by Carlos Vargas. It wasn't the crowd surrounding the art piece but rather the color that he had used. His piece was beautiful and stood out to me because of how realistic the girl looked in the picture. I couldn't help but notice the details that he had put into it and imagine how much time it had taken to complete.
The message the he was trying to give was how he saw his best friend. He said that he decided to draw the golden bridge because her dream was to move to San Francisco. He used a lot of color because Carlos could see that her future was bright. He also wanted people to notice how beautiful she was.
This drawing was by far my favorite and stood out the most to many students, In fact one student said that she loves all the color that he had used and I agree.

  113. As I was walking into the multi-purpose room, I noticed all of the wonderful pieces of art that were displayed. I was overwhelmed, trying to decide which art piece really spoke out to me. I saw many art pieces that we done very well, I was impressed. I honestly had to walk through the multi-purpose room and hallway displayed with the art work about three times. And finally, I seen it.. a piece of art work that really touched my heart. The piece was titled "Youth", which made sense considering the artist Jesus Cardanas drew his little brother.

Cardanas used excellent shading around his little brother. The shading on his face really adds detail to this piece. The eyes on this little boy are shaped almost like an almond, which bring out this child's characteristics. The way Cardanas drew the lining of his little brothers hair is very realistic.

The fact that Cardanas drew his younger brother, gives you a sense that Jesus is really fond, and loving of his brother. As I was admiring the drawing of this little baby, I noticed a note that was typed on the side of Jesus's art work. This note stated why Jesus had decided to draw his younger brother, and what the bear, and Rosario were placed in this piece for. Jesus said he drew this picture so it is a way for him to remember his brother as a baby. He wrote how much he loves and cares about his baby brother and how he puts a smile on Jesus's face whenever he sees him. The reason Jesus put a bear cub is because, it represents his little brother as a curious baby that has came into the world, just like a bear cub that both Jesus and myself think are curious about the world as well. Jesus also gave another reason on why he drew the bear cub to compare his younger brother to. Jesus stated in his note that both his little brother and a bear cub are similar because they are both very playful and energetic. Jesus also said that just like a bear cub who looks up to his/her older siblings and parents for help, so dose his baby brother. The reason Jesus drew a Rosario was because a week before this portrait was made his baby brother was baptized, he said that it was important to him because he would like to follow the path of his parents and be Catholic as well.

This portrait really portrays Jesus's message about his baby brother very well. If you look deeper than the picture it's self, and really look at the baby and the bear cub.. there is something similar in both of their face expressions. They both look curious, as if they are looking at something or someone who is new to them and they are trying to figure out about that specific object. As for the Rosario in the drawing makes perfect sense, considering his baby brother is baptized, it represents their religon.
This portrait really spoke out to me because just like Jesus I too also have younger brothers. Being an older sibling has many responcibilites which can be difficult at times.. but none of that matters when there are those great moments you have with your younger brothers. This portrait reminds me of the times I seen my three younger brothers as babies, it brought back the good memories, memories that won't change no matter what. I think both Jesus and I share a memory about our younger siblings and how we wish for them to have an amazing future, and how we are trying to be the best role models we can possibly be, so that our younger siblings turn out greater than we do one day.

It also represents the one place she loves going to and will always ends up no matter what. This church represents her faith. I was drawn to this piece because the artist "Mireya Arreguin" is my sister and i know exactly what she feels about knowing that she will no longer be able to communicate with her mother as often. The message the author is giving me through her work is that track will give her and her mother a way to be reunited no matter how long it takes them. The church symbolizes strength they will receive to move on and have faith that they will see each other soon. The drawing speaks everything out clearly because of the way she drew it and all the texture added to it.

The picture expresses the love that he wants and how he wants this to be the way he wants to live. He describes clearly that he fell in love with a woman and how he would like to live with her in San Francisco.
